Welcome to Ammazulu African Palace. A guest house and visionary lodge, celebrating the cultural heritage of KwaZulu-Natal, located on the edge of the Kloof Gorge overlooking the Krantzkloof Nature Reserve.
The palace, reflecting on various parts of history, is the vision of Durban artist Peter Amm, who has used his entire collection of Zulu art and crafts to incorporate them into more than 40 beaded columns of exquisite beauty.
The building has been designed by Kevin MacGarry of Architects Collaborative, with assistance from the owner who has been nurturing the site for some four decades.
The visitor to this truly unique destination will be forgiven if he or she felt a distinct sensory overload as there is so much to take in, explore and experience. From the breathtaking view of the gorge to the private Zulu art collection in each of the ten suites, Ammazulu Palace is a place that will capture your imagination every time you return.
"I really love this place, the only issue I had, and it was not an issue for me as I was prepared, is the generator that gave hassles, some candles and standby lights wold have made it an absolute non-issue."
"it was nice to stay with them. was a interesting place to see. the people are so friendly. Nice view outside. big rooms."
"What an experience! Everyone needs to experience this hotel at least once. A place so different. Attention to detail awesome. Rooms comfortable with great facilities. But overall Fantastic!!"
