Villa Brae
Villa Brae is a grand and secluded villa situated on Fields Hill, high above Durban and away from the humidity. There are distant ocean and city views of which can be enjoyed from the private balconies and gardens.
The beautiful spiral staircase leads to four en-suite bedrooms, of which three have their own private balconies. Positioned in large and tranquil gardens, this is a unique place where one can come and relax in an elegant yet peaceful atmosphere. Soak up the sun while enjoying the view, explore the beautiful grounds, or just relax at the swimming pool.
Enjoy delicious home-style cooking and relax in front of a blazing log fire afterwards. The design of the villa is classical with an open-plan feel. There is a comfortable lounge- and dining area with a fireplace, leading onto a covered wrap-around verandah which is ideal for entertaining. Enjoy the separate Jacuzzi-style plunge pool that is perfect for evening sundowners, or call on the on-site masseur.

"Villae Brae stay"
23 December 2014"The place and its rooms are lovely and quaint. The rooms were well prepared for our stay. The owners are warm and friendly. However, there is no upfront communication from the owners about potential add-on costs. We had for instance made an advance inquiry about whether the place is self-catering and were informed that it is not, but that we were free to bring whatever we wanted. Unbeknown to us the place sells alcohol and on check-out, it turned out that the place charges a corkage fee for beverages. We do not know how the fee was calculated. We asked for an iron and ironing board and were told the ironing would be done for us. We were then charged without forewarning on check-out for ironing services. Had we known that we would be charged and how much, we may have elected to do our own ironing. There was no service as of lunch-time on Sunday because all staff was off. We found out around lunch when we were looking for someone to clear up. We had to arrange our meals as off lunch-time, and did all the clearing up. It felt like we were not welcome/intruding but yet we were quoted and paid the same price on Sunday as on all other days. We got not discount for self-service. These sort of things should be made clear from the outset to enable guests to make an informed decision about their stay and any additional services the request."

06 March 2014"The Villa Brae is set in the most exquisite part of Kloof. Surrounded by lush tropical foliage it is the ideal getaway from the hurly-burly of the city. Rod and Karen are most friendly and accommodating and are at pains to make you feel relaxed and at ease in their homely environment. An ideal base for the the holidaying family or a stopover for the business man. Highly recommended."
