Hakuna Matata means no worries and this is what we strive for our guests to feel when they arrive at our much-loved guest house in Koffiefontein.
A unique and stylish African theme dcor welcomes guests with accommodation that is comfortable, colourful and creative; a flair that runs throughout the establishment. A restaurant provides three delicious and affordable meals a day and service provided is friendly.
Home in the little mining town of Koffiefontein, it may not be the biggest town you will ever visit but it is an area with a rich history. Not only was Koffiefontein the place where some notable figures from Afrikaner history was interned before the Second World War but it was also the home of one of the great authors of Afrikaans literature, Etienne Le Roux.
"Nobody to welcome us. When Angelique eventually came, she did not know that we booked and paid for two rooms. She did not know which rooms to allocate to us. The rooms were dusty, spiders all over. Our dustpin were not cleaned (used tampons in it) . The bathroom did not have a handle to open it from the inside. The microwave had no plate on the rotation wheels. No teaspoons, etc. The communial kitchen was a mess and stinking. The other room had no hot water, because there was no gas bottle. What a disappointment. I cannot recommend this venue to anyone. The photo's are misleading."
"Power was off only on our rooms side at about 21h30 and what was more disturbing is when we got sms message saying sorry we don't get someone to help you imagine. But we insisted that they do something and power was restored after 30min. They came knocking to our rooms almost 23h00 to take your names which they didn't do at arrival and they also took air-conditioning remotes at that time."
"For a small Karoo town in the middle of nowhere it was a wonderful expirience to stay at Hakuna Matata. Very helpful and friendly owners and staff."
"Wow, what a ripoff, to pay R650 for a double room with no windows, patio or balcony or view as stated on the website, and a breakfast where the eggs and sausage were so overcooked they would have bounced off the floor! It was like sleeping in a wooden container.Management disappeared so fast we couldn`t ask for a change of accomodation .This was a visit never to be repeated."
