Kommetjie has managed to retain much of its rural appeal, and residents here still regard themselves as living outside of Cape Town and away from it all. Nestled between Slangkop Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean, Kommetjies Long Beach has a stretch of over five kilometres of white sand with top-notch waves for surfers. The beach also has a protected tidal pool perfect for toddlers and it is peaceful even during peak season.
