Living Art Studio and Surf House

Living Art Studio is an amazing creative space, offering visitors, guests, volunteers and friends a safe space from which to explore the local community of Kommetjie. Kommetjie is a small village, surrounded by mountains and the ocean. It has incredible natural beauty, surf-able waves and amazing walks, just a few footsteps away, in any direction. With an equally diverse mix of interesting people and characters, all of whom shape our community and our world. It is a small piece of heaven, relatively untouched by modern convenience stores. It is a lively community, with pubs, eateries, surf and coffee shops, restaurants and of course a corner caf, the trademark of any South African suburb or town. All of which can be explored on foot or bike.

Living Art Studio offers dorm-style accommodation, in a homely, creative space. The artistically crafted and creative wooden house is built over three levels, and offers five rooms, sharing three bathrooms, and accommodating up to ten guests. There is a main reception area, and a kitchen and lounge area that opens onto a large deck area, and a garden with braai facilities and a Jacuzzi. The house is mere two minute walk from the beach, village shops, restaurants, coffee-shops and pubs.

Whether you wish to be on your own, exploring the local yoga studios or to simply step into our world of community and creativity, we are happy to share our South Africaness and Ubuntu with you. We will also introduce you to local projects and personalities, where you can learn and share ideas.
