Kosi Bay Lodge Private Chalets resides within the original Kosi Bay Lodge premises, a lodge that has been running for more than 20 years. Kosi Bay Lodge Private Chalets are privately owned, rustic self-catering chalets that form part of the cohesive Kosi Bay Lodge operations located in Kosi Bay, KwanGwanase. The privately owned chalets consist of either Twin Units sleeping between four to six persons, or Triplet Units sleeping between four to eight people.
Full board or self-catering options are available and all chalets have fully equipped kitchens with private barbecues and access to the boma areas. Accent is on comfort and informal service and attention; our friendly staff are always on hand to assist with information and arranging outings. For the adventurous, there are numerous activities and excursions that fully utilize the many resources available.
Kosi Bay is a place where fishermen can revere their surroundings, with kingfish, queen fish, stumpnose, shad, grunter, mullet and garrick being just a fraction of what is available from the waters of this region. While Kosi Bay has such wonders as the two-armed mudskipper fish and the one-armed fiddler crab, nearby Ndumo Game Reserve sports rather larger wonders of the animal kingdom, including rhino, giraffe, warthog, zebra, kudu, nyala and impala, as well as over 400 bird species.
"We have been staying at Kosi Bay Lodge several times a year since 2004 (we got married there). Always a great experience. Got back from there yesterday. Fairly frequent electricity issues in the area. Chalets are not equipped with matches, candles or lamps for these times (despite requests). Our visit last week, the same. It was incredibly hot. 12 Hours after power went out, we, the guests enquired. There was no communication at all from the lodge management. By this time the fridge/freezer in the chalet defrosted. Our meet was thawing and fridge full of veggies, milk, etc. I was told it should be on by that afternoon. I spoke to the owner and was also told that there is a fridge available in the lodge to put our stuff in. Somewhat late! I Asked for matches, and candles in case the power did not come back on before evening. Nothing provided even by the time we left two days later. The owner seemed rather indifferent and not particularly interested. Really a pity because this is the kind of treatment that would make guests go elsewhere. The chalet was clean and comfortable and staff helpful and friendly."
"Chalets needs A LOT of maintenanceChristmas-eve dinner was a bit boring - although the food was excellent, there were absolutely NO Christmas feeling or atmosphere - not even music..."
"We enjoyed our stay here. Positives; clean, fully equipped kitchen, friendly maid and gardener who cleaned thouroughly every day, amazing location with private pool. Negatives; reception staff had a bit of an attitude, we were originally not given the chalet we had booked and it took some convincing to swap the keys, we were not prewarned about the need for a bakkie / 4x4 to arrive at the destination"
"I totally enjoyed my time at this establishment.I found getting to the surrounding nature attractions difficult on short notice"
"Kosi Bay is a rural, simple, unspoilt part of our country and the chalets are so suited to the area! There is everything you need but in a simple kind of way. no frills and flounces, just plain and simple! Very quiet and peaceful. Just what you need for the area! We will be back!!"
