Kosi Moon B&B is located in the Kosi Bay area, just outside the little town of Manguzi, Northern KZN/Maputaland. Were in the bush, adjacent to the Kosi Bay Coastal Forest Reserve, which forms part of the Isimangaliso Wetland Park (World Heritage Site) .
We offer accommodation on a fully catered, semi-catered and self-catering basis. The house is situated on the crown of a tertiary dune, spectacularly overlooking the sand forest and Lake Nhlange. There are five bedrooms (north section has three bedrooms; the south section has two bedrooms); vast living areas (open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen) and an expansive patio with a plunge pool, and a braai area. The chalets are on a lower level, surrounded by indigenous bush. They comprise two one-roomed units. Semi-detached, each unit has its own shower/loo & hand-basin, one double or two single beds, kitchenette facilities (including 2-plate gas-cooker, microwave, fridge, sink, crockery and cutlery for two) and out front is a semi-enclosed braai area, for outdoor cooking. Our aim is to provide our guests with a comfortable, friendly environment that will enhance their beach and bush experience. Furnishings and dcor are modest and functional.
"Litter in the area over all. Road signs can improve. Only one restaurant in a radius of about 80km. Town littered, filthy."
"We got lost trying to get to Kosi moon. We called the owner who was very very rude. We end up not finding the place and the owner didnt bother to find out if we are ok or not seeing that we didnt arrive for the night. Horrible service and very rude owner."
"Friendly owner and staff, beautiful location, easy to follow directions (though driving in sand with a 2x4 is an adventure), simple accommodation"
"We had a wonderful stay. Our hosts Ray and Viv made sure that everything was up to standard. The house is big enough to accommodate 2 families, it should be noted that if you share the house, it should be with someone you know very well. It is well situated to drive to different beaches and lakes. It is also close enough to town, should you need something. The evenings were very quite and we rested well."
"It is with great disappointment that I write this review of our stay at the Kosi Moon B&B. We arrrived to a very unwelcome by the owners that was not very accomodating or even interested in our needs. The accomodation is very run down and not up to standard for the rate we are charged (this is one of those places where the site photos and the actual place is not the same). Our rooms were dirty and dusty and the bathrooms has no proper running water or hot water. Breakfast which had to be paid R60 for seperately in advance was a pre-plated cold omlette and 2 pieces of bacon. I would never return and not recommend them to anybody in the area."
"We got very good instructions to Kosi Moon B&B with the booking confirmation, and we called Ray as instructed. From there on, we were in good hands! Ray and Viv were great hosts, like staying with old friends. The house is spacious and remote - a great retreat. Ray took us snorkelling and told us a lot about life in the Kosi Bay area; we are looking forward to coming back! Our room was large, with patio access, and had an en-suite bathroom with shower. Everything was clean and tidy. They have a lovely big dog and some cats - might be good to know."
"Viv and Ray are fantastic and we will definitely return back soon. We actually extended our stay with four more nights."
"It was wonderful. Everything was nice and clean and the people were SOOOO nice!!! Thank you very much will come back any day."
"Great location with lovely views from the pool patio. Our room was delightful. The proprietor was very friendly and a great source of local information."
"Ray and Viv were very helpful with arranging directions, activities. Throroughly enjoyable stay."
