Houdenbek Farm Cottages

Houdenbek Farm Cottages is a restored National Monument and offers comfortable self-catering accommodation, situated on a working fruit- and vegetable farm in the well-known Koue Bokkeveld. It is an affordable family retreat positioned 60 km from Ceres and 200 km from Cape Town.

This is a picturesque area nestled in the rugged Skurweberg Mountains, providing a hype of outdoor activities or merely a serene weekend away. The two cottages are surrounded by large old-oak trees, promising a peaceful and relaxing stay.

The surrounding mountains host a number of beautiful hiking trails and mountain biking, as well as a perfect challenge for rock climbers. We have a mini golf course and a volley ball net in the garden for some entertainment.

"We are very much impressed with the well maintained cottage in such a good original condition! The cottage offers a double bed on ground level and four single beds, chairs and table in the nock of the roof. The scenic environment and rocky mountains are beautiful. My wife and I even enjoyed a course of Putt Putt golf. We had exceptional mild weather for June and we could make use of the outside "braai" facility during late afternoon at sunset. We enjoyed the silence during the night's rest. Highly recommended!"

"My stay at Houdenbek Farm Cottages was very healing and quiet. The surrounding Cederberg mountains have a serene effect on the rushed chaos of a city dweller's lifestyle. The cottage itself is very comfortable and cosy with all the basic amenities needed for a relaxing visit. I will definitely be back."

"The accommodation met all of our expectations and more ... being the last accommodation available on the surfaced road on our chosen (non-standard) route to AfrikaBurn. Everything else was a bonus and greatly appreciated with gratitude.The pre sunrise walk to the camp site and dam, with the rising sun lighting up the mountain back-drop will entice us back on a special trip for a few day stay."
