Abrahamskraal Cottage West Coast National Park SANParks

Just inland from the secluded harbour of Saldanha Bay, and only 1,5 hour's drive from Cape Town's City Centre, one finds the azure waters of the Langebaan Lagoon, focal point of the West Coast National Park.

This self-catering cottage is situated in the West Coast National Park, near the Abrahamskraal waterhole. The unit is a fully-equipped, two-bedroom cottage with two en-suite bedrooms.

One bedroom has a double bed and the second bedroom has two single beds and two pull out beds. There is an open-plan living area and kitchen, and a fireplace in the living area to utilise as a braai or fireplace.

Vehicle fuel is not available in the park . The nearest fuel station is in the Langebaan Village (approx. 5km from the park).

West Coast National Park boasts a popular and colourful flower season annually between August and September. Depending on the amount of rainfall in the preceding winter months, West Coasts Flower Season is fast becoming rival competition to other popular flower viewing sites in the country.

"<div>Really enjoyed the cottage but was disappointed that all the good work done to the cottage wasn't reflected in the immediate space around the cottage where:</div><div><br /></div><div>- empty cement bags were left lying around</div><div><br /></div><div>- bricks and other rubble remain just 10 meters from the cottage in the pristine reserve.</div><div><br /></div><div>- the sand from digging the septic tank hole is simply left in a pile next to the tank.</div><div><br /></div><div>a quick stroll around the cottage will reveal all this and more.</div><div><br /></div><div>The cottage itself is great apart from really sloppy detail in the one shower which has the shower floor sloped in a stupid direction, wetting the area each time instead of draining it.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div>"

"Should have been stunning - but wasn't.The resident rock pigeons are making such a terrible mess, one doesn't even want to sit outside and enjoy the surrounds. It was impossible to have a decent shower - a plumber has to be sent over there to sort it out. Oh yes, and living with four or five mice in your house is a bit of a challenge for city folk!"
