Barn Bed & Breakfast/Guesthouse

Escape the city bedlam and experience the tranquillity of nature. Barn Guesthouse originated from a sheep kraal on the farm Smaldeel, situated on the N1, 24 km south of Kroonstad. The agricultural activities on the farm include the cultivation of maize, sunflower and wheat as well as the production of cattle and sheep.

We offer five luxurious outside bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. Each room can enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of the garden. Each room is equipped with air-conditioning, bar fridge, hair dryer, TV with M-Net, two Movie Magic and two sport channels, shower and/or bath, toiletries, electric blankets, tea and coffee-making facility, fresh rusks, towels and magazines.

Barn Guesthouse also has other facilities like private entrances, covered parking, private gardens, ice facilities, ironing, stove facilities, microwaves, fridges, tumble-dryers, washing facilities, and indoor braai as well as outdoor braai facilities.

An old dairy has been converted into an indoor braai that is ideal for private functions and conferences. Bring your quad bike and enjoy the freedom of farm life. The guest house is also pet friendly.

"Easy to find right next to the N1 and just over 200km from JHB - a good first leg even after a day's work. Beautiful and very comfortable room and bathroom, even including a small bottle of ros - perfect to slip into a more relaxed frame of mind.Very friendly host. Lovely breakfast on request."

"I can say that this place was lovely and the host/owner was very friendly but, the price was not justified. We found (the night before staying here) a bigger and better place for half the price. When we initially checked the price on safari it was 420 rand. However, they asked us for 690 rand."
