Carter's Lodge is a place to relax, whether you're on business or on holiday. Sip a sundowner on the patio while watching the ships at sea, or take a dip in the sparkling rock pool. At Carter's Lodge, you'll feel pampered. Just 800 m from the beach, Carter's Lodge is a 4 Star graded establishment conveniently situated across the road from La Lucia Mall and the Virgin Active Gym and Health Club. We are also close to restaurants, the Gateway Theatre of Shopping, and the Umhlanga La Lucia Ridge Business Parks.
Durban is just 10 minutes' drive away, as is the Sun Coast and Sibaya Casinos, the ICC, sports stadiums, and uShaka Marine World. There are also seven top golf courses within 15 minutes' drive. Other activities in the area include body boarding, surfing, dolphin-watching, microlighting, skydiving, scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, horse riding along the beach, and lots more.
All en-suite bedrooms are air-conditioned and have their own entrance leading in from the garden. The rooms are equipped with a TV with M-Net and DStv, tea and coffee facilities, a bar fridge, hairdryer, safe, and ceiling fan. The linen is white percale and the towels are of good quality. Breakfasts are hearty, offering a full continental of cereals and fresh fruit and fruit juices, cold meats and cheeses, and home-baked muffins and breads, as well as an English-style cooked breakfast. Secure off-street parking is provided and each room has its own security.

30 August 2016"We were in Durban for a wedding and stayed at Carter's Lodge for 2 nights. The room was extremely clean and comfortable and met all our needs. Conveniently situated close to the La Lucia Mall with easy access to the highway, we couldn't have asked for a better spot. We would also like to thank Carol Carter for travelling to the airport to drop off a laptop which we had erroneously left in the safe. This was extremely kind and so much appreciated. Will definitely recommend this establishment for anyone looking for a home away from home."

20 June 2016"My boyfriend and I absolutely loved staying at Carter's Lodge. The owner, Carol, and her staff are so friendly and welcoming. Our room was really beautiful and clean and had all the facilities you would need while you are away from home. It is also really close to La Lucia mall and just a few minutes away from Gateway Mall and the beach. The breakfast is also really delicious. We will definitely stay at Carter's Lodge again!"

07 December 2015"From the first night we visited Carter's Lodge, we felt instantly at home with the comfortable and quiet neighbourhood. The breakfast served is very nice and is a welcomed start to the day. With the closest mall across the street and the beach in walking distance, we were in no shortage of things to do. The B&B felt more like a hotel than a guesthouse, with new towels and sheets everyday and free tea, coffee and biscuits and a compact version of dstv.<div><br /></div><div>Carol was an excellent hostess, making sure that we were always well taken care of and comfortable, even going to the extent of offering to still make breakfast and take it to the room (when a friend over-slept)</div><div><br /></div><div>All in all I had a wonderful time and will be staying at Cartets lodge again.</div>"

19 April 2014"Excellent breakfasts, served with care and attention to detail. Our room was superbly clean, spacious, comfortable and relaxing. Pristine bathroom. Lovely walk-in cupboard and dressing area.Carol and Meisie and staff looked after us exceptionally well and made us feel right at home. We found ourselves with an emergency trip to the hospital and Carol went out of her way to help us.A lovely garden and pool, and we really enjoyed our breakfasts outside listening to the birds. The road can be a bit noisy but the tranquility of the garden and rooms makes up for this. Very safe parking. Near La Lucia Mall but far enough away from Durban's touristy busyness. A real find!"

08 December 2007"From the outset we were made very welcome both by proprietor Carol and her staff. They went out of their way to assist us with local directions and restaurants and with taxi firms. Carol is very knowledgeable about the Durban area and places to go and was able to give us plenty of information in this regard. It was nice to see a feminine touch in the bedroom. All in all an excellent establishment which I thoroughly recommend to anyone on business or leisure.Oh, and one last thing Carol made the best breakfasts in the whole of our three week stay in South Africa, I particularly recommend the omelettes."
