  • "A really pleasant surprise"

    10 November 2015

"<p style="text-align: justify;">We stayed in Kerrie Kierrie Room on the Friday night and in Elephant Room on the Sunday night on our way home. I have stayed over in Ladybrand before while travelling on my own but this time needed a "nicer" place as my wife and I were Travelling together. I wasn't expecting what we found. The welcome was great, service really good and the rooms fantastic. The grounds and gardens make you feel like you are anywhere but in Ladybrand, just strolling around in the gardens, taking in the Koi ponds etc. almost something new around each corner.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">The breakfast could be a little more up-market but it did the job well enough and the nightly rate, including breakfast, was very well priced. </p><p style="text-align: justify;">We have decided that we will always stop-over at Cranberry Cottage when travelling in the area.</p>"

  • "Huge disappointment"

    26 October 2015

"Our greeting was great, but the only problem was that we were not given the room that we wanted. On being told that the room we originally wanted was available we were lead to it, only to find it had not been cleaned with a pair of dirty underpants lying on the floor.<div>We were then offered an upstairs room which was out of the questions for us. Eventually we had to settle for the "green room" In this so called 4 star establishment, we had to ask for cotton linen which we eventually found out they did not have. There was no ice in the fridge, and the shower could best be described as a disaster. A safe, kindly supplied did not work, and could not be made to work. Our air-conditioned room, according to their website, should have had a garden or terrace view. Our little stoep, which was filthy had a view through a broken fence of a building site.</div><div>The room itself looked and felt as if it had not had a good cleaning in weeks.</div><div>While they made an attempt to fix some of this, we were extremely disappointed in what is regarded as a 4 star establishment. It seemed to us as a relic of the past.</div>"

  • "Highly recommended"

"We had an absolutely fabulous stay in the Mohale Room. Our room was very spacious and clean. It was well worth the long wait. The restaurant at the cottage is also a big recommendation for dinner and breakfast."
