The Station House at Living Life offer accommodation in a beautifully renovated old stationmasters house. This quaint old sandstone house is walking distance from the Station Caf.
Set in natural surroundings, they are private and perfect for a relaxing weekend away or a stopover in Ladybrand. Decorated in a vintage style, rooms are crisp and filled with natural light. Natural tones and clean lines form a contrast with the lush gardens outside.
Ladybrand is a small town in the Eastern Free State of South Africa. It is on the Lesotho border, near the Maseru border post. Entering the town from the Maseru side, follow Piet Retief Street to its end.
"A real gem! Don't let the road fool you -- this place is ideally situated on a beautiful property. The rooms were large, clean, comfortable, and decorated beautifully. The breakfast (and dinner) were tasty and everyone was kind and helpful. Indoor and outdoor spaces were great. I'll return here when needing to stay in the area."
"Arrived a day early by mistake, but got a lovely room. Very good breakfast. Pleasant helpful staff. Nice gardens. Bit unusual place with 200 yards rough road approach - but don't be put off!"
"So worth the drive to a perfect destination... Friendly staff, delicious meals and stunning rooms... Such attention to detail... Would drive all the way from Durvan for a special night!"
"We stop here en-route to Lesotho having travelled to SA from the UK - the Maseru bridge crossing can be a step too far after a 24hour journey. Hence we always stay at Living Life- an oasis of peace, calm and warm hospitality. Love this place. A true gem."
"Tucked away in a secret little town that still has a Spar supermarket, my brand new wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the escape that Living Life offered. We were so impressed with how many flowers and green trees and bushes there were. We understand that it's due a management change soon, but also hear that some of the staff will remain. If you decide to go through, tell David that Gavin says hi, and that he's an incredible caterer!"
"Beautiful room with special little touches made our stay comfortable. We did however have a very loud night with not a lot of sleep - the locals' music was heard throughout the night with dogs howling in unison - not what we expected for a little town like Ladybrand. Having escaped the city for some peace and quiet we were a bit disappointed. Nonetheless, breakfast was divine!"
"We had a very peaceful and relaxing stay. We were amazed by the creativity in the dcor. It's a lovely place for an overnight stay."
"We stopped over for just one night prior to travelling into Lesotho for a week on business. Had it not been for the hassle of the border crossing we would have made Station House our base for the duration of the trip as Maseru has little to offer other than the two large, ridiculously overpriced and significantly under delivering big hotels. Station house was very comfortable; the bedrooms. large, clean and well maintained. Dinner and breakfast were taken in what appeared to be a 'tin shack' which sounds awful but was really great. The delicious breakfast and dinner were served by the most gracious, friendly and courteous staff. This is a quirky kind of place but comes to you from us as highly recommended. We'll be back!"
"I highly recommend this place Excellent service, accommodation and great food - the people actually care - Wow - don't get that in Joburg"
"I would honestly go there once a month !One of the best establishments that I have been and the owners are both professional and homely."
"Really enjoyed staying at guest house, will be back again."
"Exceptional service and luxurious accommodation at fantastic rates."
"What a wonderful weekend! The owners and all staff members were very friendly and made us feel very special! I can recommend this guesthouse to everyone. Dirk Heyns"
"This is the jewel of the town! Wow! Best place, best people, best food! If ever traveling through your town, this is definitely a MUST visit!Wish we could have stayed another night! Great breakfast!"
"I really thought I had entered heaven when I opened the door to my room in the Living Life Station House. So private, so lovely, and the flowers in the rooms are amazing! Sweet smelling roses and beautiful orchids. The room would be a wonderful romantic get-a-way; king size bed, big tub, huge shower, and a private sitting area in your own garden. I really did not want to leave!"
