Thatcher's Rest
Set within the Biggarsberg area of northern Kwa-Zulu Natal, this thatched cottage stands proudly on stilts above the dams cool waters.
Privately located with acres of land to call your own and exclusive fishing, the cottages accommodates six guests comfortable in three beautifully furnished bedrooms and three bathrooms.
This unique accommodation is completely surrounded by the lake, with each window offering a world of unobstructed lake and land views that stretch out for miles.
The lounge offers a fireplace for those chilly winter evenings, while you lie immersed in a good book. The kitchen overlooks the lounge and is fully equipped, meals can be served outside in the undercover balcony that can be enclosed with blinds; giving you the best of both worlds.
The cottage is equipped with a gas stove and fridge. Lights and power points are powered by a remote controlled generator. To add to all of the above, the dam on which the cottage is situated, offers great bass and trout fishing opportunities. There are a total of six stocked dams on the farm, all of which are available for guests staying in the cottage.
There is a bass boat available and other activities available on the farm include walking, and bird-watching.
