  "Stayed overnight at this beautiful place with its old world charm and warm hosts. A quick getaway to rest our weary bones was welcomed by the smiles of Johan and Carin. Rooms are clean and has everything you need to recharge ur soul. Picked some peaches in the orchards, the views and surrounds are breathtaking. Certainly making a return visit.."

  "We have been in South Africa for nearly 3 months and this had to be one of the highlights! The accommodation was so warm and comfy in a homely cottage. The farm itself is beautiful with its various vineyards, Dutch architecture and awe-inspiring mountains. The cherry on the cake was a very personable wine tasting in the century old wine cellar with Johan who let us dabble several of his vintages and was happy to answer all our curious viticulture questions. We would definitely go back, please let us come live with you Carin and Johan! Nat, Lauren and James x"

  "We were two families and stayed in cottage 4 & 6 which are on the back side of the farmyard. Both cottages were lovely and tastefully furnished. The gardens around the cottages are gorgeous and there's a nice tennis court with balls and racquets available! We enjoyed a lovely breakfast on the stoop of the main house served by the friendly personnel. Johan, the host was very helpful and friendly which makes a stay all the more enjoyable. And the price is very reasonable! Maybe the only downside is the closeness to the main road and therefore a bit of traffic noise but it dies down by the evening."

  "For the first time in my life my wife and I slept in a wine tank. Rather on the small side, but for a sleepover after 70th birthday adequate. The problem is however we never made it to the party as the wine supplied through the shower was very intoxicating! Owners very friendly and helpful!"

  "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the self-catering cottage at La Provence. Our host and hostess were really friendly and made us feel at home. We were lucky to have owls in the oaks which give our terrace shade throughout the day - it was so nice seeing them swoop out into the dusk every evening.<div>The freshwater pool is wonderful - large enough for a REAL swim, and refreshing after a hot and tiring day. We would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting affordable accommodation in Franschoek.</div>"

  "The place is lovely and old with wooden floors, as we only stayed one night the creaking floors was part of the charm. Nice and spacious and clean. Unfortunately the DSTV was not working, but I am sure the owners would have done something about it if we had said something. Lovely views of the fruit trees from the terrace. Would go again"

Delicious breakfast can be eaten on the veranda at the main house. Hosts, Carien and Johan, went out of their way to make our stay incredible - this included looking at old books, Johan's old car collection and the wine cellar. To be recommended.<br />"

  "We were thrilled to discover this wonderful gem on the approach to Franschhoek. The two cottages we occupied were lovely; spacious and cool, tastefully equipped and in beautiful condition. The garden setting was peaceful and luxuriant, with the water feature drawing a host of interesting birds, and the resident dogs lying indolently in the shade, ready for some petting. We walked through the vines and the peach orchard, and along the river, ringed by magnificent mountains, spotting a raptor enjoying the breeze, and we stopped to greet the ostrich family. The delightful fresh spring water pool washed away the day's heat, and we slept deeply on the comfy beds. Sadly, we only stayed a single night, feasting on the lush breakfast on the stoep of the main house before heading back home. Next time we will definitely stay longer, enjoying more of Carien and Johan's engaging hospitality!"

  "We arrived and all was ready as expected. That sadly was where the good experience ended.The decor and furniture arrangements were so very dated and of a low quality that it came across as a total rip off. The shower head takes the cake. This is something from the 1950's and one can hardly wash oneself. Besides this I was chewed to pieces by something "liven" in the bed. My lower legs are covered in bites and welts. Do not recommend this place to anyone."
