Gamka Olives Farm Accommodation

Gamka Olives Farm Accommodation is conveniently situated in the small village of Leeu Gamka which straddles the railway line and the N1 between Laingsburg and Beaufort West.

Stay in our self-catering cottage on the edge of an olive orchard which offers two bedrooms and a bathroom with a bath and shower. The kitchen is ideal for self-catering with a fridge, microwave and braai facilities.

We also offer a garden room connected to the main house, but with separate entrance. This room has an open-plan kitchen and dining area. It has a bedroom with a double bed. Bunk beds available in the living area. Braai facilities available. No TV!

The last Cape lion was shot at Leeu-Gamka in 1857, and this species is now extinct. Private Schultz, said to be the tallest man in the British army, died here from wounds received in combat during the Anglo-Boer War. This is a great stopover for families and individuals alike. "We really enjoyed the rusticness and spaciousness of the cottage. It was cold was when we arrived but our hostess made sure that the heater in the bedroom was switched on to ensure that we had a great nights rest. Everything was to our liking."

"Alida our hostess made us feel very welcome. The cottage was clean and flowers welcome us in every room. Beds were comfortable and bathroom clean and spacious. The aircons in the summer heat was an absolute bonus. Will overnight there again on a Cape Town trip. Thank you Alida"

"I stayed in the place briefly for a night, as a stopover from Johannesburg to Cape Town. It had everything I needed, it was spacious and it was very clean and tidy. It was also very quiet and peaceful. The town (Leeu-Gamka) seems to be quite small and empty, but I did not explore it at all."

The unit was exactly what we needed after 1000km of travelling and it was securely fenced off with a large garden for our dogs to run and stretch their legs.</p><p>The owners friendly and very accommodating and we'll definitely book here again for our next overnight stop :)</p>"

"Ek persoonlik was nogal teleurgesteld met die plekkie!<br />Dit was skoon,maar so onpersoonlik! Al die gordyne was styf toe en die ontvangs was glad nie baie vriendelik nie! Kan nie verstaan nie, daar is 'n skottel, maar geen DSTV nie! Sou baie gehelp het as net Kyknet gekoppel kan word!"

"This little cottage was so perfect for a stop over on our way to the western cape. Clean linen and towels, ice and milk in the fridge, coffee and tea, even yummy rusks. The honesty tray had olive oil and different types of olive jars. The owners are very friendly and made us feel so welcome. Thanks a lot! It was great!!!"

"'n Lekker ervaring en ons gasvrou was reg om ons bietjie in te lig oor olywe- dankie Alida. Ons het ook van die plaasproduk aangeskaf teen baie goeie pryse. Trokke pla nie baie in die nag nie. Mens moet net seker maak dat jy voorberei is vir die maaltye. Daar is nie 'n keuse van eetplekke nie en die Ultra City se kombuis maak vroeg toe!!"
