Blakeney Farm

Blakeney is a farm on the edge of the Waterberg, 25 km outside of Lephalale which was formerly known as Ellisras. It is a truly unspoiled wilderness area with high cliffs, the seasonal Tambotie River, shady valleys with huge trees and flat bushveld areas on top of the mountains.

The animals you may see vary from warthog and the shy and rarely seen bush pig to the elusive mountain reedbuck, the agile klipspringer, bushbuck, nyala and kudu. Impala, blue wildebeest and zebra are more often seen on the mountain flats. At night and if you are very lucky you may see or hear leopard and brown hyena. Other nocturnal life is also abundant.

The camp is a well-renovated old farmhouse at the base of the mountain. It has two outside bedrooms and wonderful outside entertaining areas with fires, a braai area and a pizza oven. The camp doesnt have electricity, therefore everything runs on gas. The generator will be started for you when necessary but unfortunately not for blow drying your hair. Fridges run on gas, so remember to bring lots of ice.
