Tholo Lodge

On 24 December huge floods hit our property. The dam wall broke during the course of the floods, leaving some damaging effects behind, though our lodge has not been damaged at all.

The dam is no more; it is now the river running straight through.

Tholo Lodge consists of six spacious chalets, a central dining area with lounge, and a swimming pool. Just 250 km from Pretoria, this self-catering lodge is situated in the exclusive Tholo Bush Estate, a 2000-hectare nature estate set in the heart of the Waterberg.

Stretched along the riverbank, each luxurious chalet allows for privacy and boasts a private deck, walk-in closet and beautiful en-suite bathroom, while the central area comprises a fully-equipped kitchen, dining room, lounge, and two bathrooms. The main lodge setting is perfect for a bushveld braai and lazy brunches on the deck overlooking the river.

Cool off in the swimming pool during warm bushveld summers or enjoy an African bush fire with an open fireplace. Sundowners can be enjoyed on the deck whilst viewing the game coming down to drink and listening to the call of the African Fish Eagle in the background. Other activities at Tholo Lodge include canoeing, fishing, hiking, bird watching, mountain biking, game viewing, game drives, bird watching, and 4x4 trails.
