"Absolutely stunning - will definitely return"

  • "Elephants walked passed our shower"

    15 August 2018

"7 Adults, 1 small child, this was the perfect size unit for our family. The time of the year too perfect as days were warm, and nights mild. One of the advantages of Mabalingwe is that one can do self-drive safari drives, or book a vehicle, or pay for a tour. The loft bedroom, sexy as it was, more suitable to a teenager who sleeps late as the noise from the telly can be a disturbance."

  • "Amazing Deck views"

    25 April 2018

"We had a lovely stay at Ebuhleni Lodge. The deck is really stunning with lovely views of the bush. The home is ideal for 2 families with the main house and then a cottage. Just to note that the main house is not really suitable for young kids as the stairs are very steep and there is only one rail/banister going down. The main bedroom is not entirely closed and has a wooden rail for safety. The toilet/shower is also downstairs. Definitely fine for older kids. Although we were only 3, we stayed in the cottage as it is all one level and was easier for us with a 4 year old. The house itself offers great wifi, DSTV, multiple fireplaces/braais and comfortable seating areas inside and outside. We appreciated the Ice machine, table tennis and other facilities. Thanks for a super stay."

  • "Badly Maintained and Dangerous."

    29 December 2017

"This property is extremely badly maintained and dangerous to the elderly and children. The stairs to the bedrooms in the main house are little more than a ladder. It is extremely dangerous for the elderly and children to use. Our 70 yr old granny had to sleep on the couch because she could not climb these stairs. There is no bathroom for the upstairs bedrooms, only a cupboard sized toilet at the bottom of this ladder, which has to be shared by 4 people.None of the windows in the house open because they have been nailed shut and there is no ventilation whatsoever. None of the ceiling fans were working so the rooms were uninhabitable due to lack of air and ventilation (at 34 degrees!!!) There is zero privacy in the main bedroom, it is fully open on the side - meaning people sitting in the lounge have a full view into the bed/ bedroom. There was no gas in the gas braai. There was no dishwasher even though it was specified. The cushions for the chairs at the boma looked about 20 yrs. old, were ripped, torn and disgusting. The pool fountains didnt work. There was an empty, broken, uncovered Jacuzzi on the deck which created another serious hazard as people had to shuffle around this to get to the cottage rooms. The decking is very badly maintained, warped, peeling, with protruding nails. The wooden stairs to the boma area is rotten and wobbles if anyone walks on it, very dangerous. There are many well maintained, well managed properties in this area, this is definitely not one of them. STAY AWAY, I would definitely not recommend this property to anyone. The best part of our four day stay was leaving."

    20 June 2016

"We had a wonderful stay at Ebuhleni and were blessed enough to enjoy the lodge for 5 days in June.<div><br /></div><div>The lodge is very well-equipped and beautiful. The views from the lovely large deck fed our souls. The beds are comfortable and bedding really warm during the cold winter nights.</div><div><br /></div><div>We enjoyed taking self-drive game drives and experienced beautiful encounters. I can also recommend the 1.5 hour outrides on horseback - just amazing to be so close to animals in their own habitat.</div><div><br /></div><div>I did have a few cleaning and other concerns with Damaris, and will address these directly with management to allow them to take remedial action, as it seems from the other positive reviews that this is not her usual standard.</div>"

    02 November 2015

"The place is so beautiful, quite and relaxing. We enjoyed ourselves and the helper Damaris was so amazing, she made us feel at home. The only disappointment was that we hoped to see the elephants next to our chalets and we didn't and the Jacuzzi is not working. So please the next time we come back we hope that it will be in a working condition."
