Cairnfern Country Lodge is the ideal luxury self-catering retreat where guests have exclusive use of 300 hectares of rolling grassland, hills, dams and forest. Escape to the peaceful seclusion of Cairnfern and enjoy a tranquil weekend of fly fishing in the four trout dams stocked with rainbow, brown and golden trout.
There are four bedrooms; three of the bedrooms have French doors opening onto the large veranda overlooking the horse paddock, while the fourth bedroom opens into a little private garden courtyard. Two of the bedrooms have king-size beds and two have queen-size beds. One bedroom has an additional double futon bed.
There is a lounge with a huge fireplace, full DStv and a DVD player. All the bedrooms have TV with DStv. The dining room has a fireplace and a small reading area, and there is a fully equipped kitchen with two fridges, a microwave, stove, oven, toaster and a filter coffee machine.
Other than the dams, there is a very deep water feature trout pond outside the lounge, and a smaller water feature in the courtyard between the lounge and dining room. Any children staying at Cairnfern should be under constant adult supervision as neither of the ponds or any of the dams are fenced off.
For the more energetic, experience the spectacular natural beauty of this area whilst walking to the waterfall, wandering through the forest, or relaxing under the old oak trees in a hammock or on the Victorian-style veranda as you re-energise your senses through the magic of this tranquil setting.
