This Farm Retreat is a lovely country retreat, set in 24-hectares of beautiful open countryside and located just 7 km from Magaliesburg and an hours drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria. Being a farm, you can expect a gravel road to travel on, but with no difficulty..all our guests arrive without any damages. The retreat comprises the original 19th century farmhouse and four thatched roof cottages; namely Lavender, Rock and Mulberry. All units have comfortable beds with down duvets. The farm is very peaceful and tranquil, with abundant and colourful bird life. There is a swimming pool and horse riding(via a private owner in the area) to the hill that offers stunning views of the majestic Magaliesberg valley. Our Dairy Farm is also located next door.
"The cottage was clean, the service was just too good"
"We booked for one night only and unfortunately arrived after dark. It was a bit difficult to find the place, but we were warmly welcomed by Frank and Jami, who cooked and served us a delicious dinner. Both were also extremely helpful with our queries.
We stayed at the Mulberry Cottage, which could do with a few improvements like shelves and hooks in the bathroom. There is also no wardrobe should one wish to hang up clothes. The exteriors and surroundings of the farmhouse, cottages and other buildings on the premises, including signboards need some attention. More indigenous plants, some flowerbeds and general cleaning up would do no harm either. Apart from that we had a peaceful and relaxing stay. Many Thanks to Frank and Jami.

Elke Richartz
30 October 2016"
"The Celtis Lodge was rather run down. I understand there was a recent change in ownership, and as a result the facility was seriously neglected. Many areas were in need of repair and maintenance. For example the swimming pool was horribly dirty. The cottage we stayed in lacked closet space. I have no plan to return and would strongly advise against staying here."
