  "It's a beautiful place, Pieter and the kitchen staff were friendly and welcoming. I know they can't change the set up of the house but didn't like the fact that kitchen is so close to the rooms. I wouldn't encourage anyone to use a small car to go to the MountainLodge as the rocks are really bad."

  "The service at the Lodge was excellent. The menu can be extended. Also the TV should be bigger for the rate the one is paying per room. The furniture also needs to be updated as it is a bit worn. This will make the property very competitive with nearby hotels as everything else is excellent"

  "It was absolutely amazing to get away to this very peaceful environment. The host Pieter and Paulina were so attentive to our every need. Paulina is a Master chef and dinner was an event every evening. Maybe just one recommendation- mix up the breakfasts a little. Maybe introduce omelettes, French toast etc. Thank you for a great environment to recharge in."

  "My husband and I stayed at Steynshoop from Friday till Sunday, we were looking for a little quiet get-away and boy did we get more than we bargained for! This place is amazing, cozy, quiet, classy and yet rustic and the serenity and the surroundings are absolutely amazing! Don't get get me started on the staff, they are exceptional and Pieter, oh Pieter bless this man, he's got a heart of Gold!! The chef only provides 5 star meals and breakfast! I have to warm people if you go to Steynshoop you might not want to leave! A very special thanks to Pieter, God bless you abundantly!! We are definitely going back!"

  "If you want a place to getaway from the city madness, this is a place for you. The staff is really attentive and friendly and go out of their way to make you as comfortable as possible. The weekend at this place allowed me to just relax."

  "The road to the lodge is paved at parts but the rest of the road is gravel. There is about a kilometer which has a lot of stones and rocks on it. This makes getting to the lodge quite difficult.The actual lodge is great, the staff are friendly and the food is awesome!The hiking trails are fund and quite the workout!Good job Pieter and team!"

  "I stayed there last year at the same time and all I can say if you really need to escape and get away from the rat race and need some quiet time, this is the place. The staff is great and they go out of their way to please the visitor. I experienced the food from both the chefs in my two stays and I must say all the food is great but the beef served on Saturday night was to die for. The hike is great with good views of the Valley. It's short of one thing - a good massage for sore muscles and to relax even more - maybe train one of the members up?"
