Kingfishers Trout Farm

Kingfishers Trout Farm provides a venue for the whole family and is just a short drive from Magaliesburg. The accommodation consists of two fully equipped self-catering chalets and each chalet has two bedrooms with a shared bathroom. The rooms are furnished with single beds and a queen-size bed respectively and the bathroom consists of a bath and shower. The lounge has a comfortable sleeper couch and is equipped with a TV with full DStv access. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge-freezer, a stove and oven, a microwave and a toaster, as well as tea and coffee facilities. Heaters are provided for those chilly nights and each chalet has a braai facility. Have your friends and family join you as day visitors to enhance the experience.

Guests have access to the swimming pool and the jungle gym will keep children entertained. Off-street parking is also provided.

The farm has three dams; all angling methods are allowed in the smallest dam while only fly-fishing is allowed in the other two. The smallest dam is perfect for coaching fly-fishermen, giving them an opportunity to catch their own trout. This dams size and location allows constant surveillance over the youngsters. Most sections of the second dam are within casting distance of the bank. In the third and largest dam trout are fished with dry flies in the shallows and with sinking rigs in the deeper sections. All three dams are well stocked in the winter season with rainbow trout, while the big dam also holds some nice brown trout. A variety of bird life has been established and is perfect for the avid birdwatcher.

Kingfishers Trout Farm is situated 14 km from Magaliesburg and is with within easy reach of Johannesburg, Pretoria and Rustenburg.

"<p>First there was a problem with the amount due. According to the quote received the rate for 2 nights was R1700 however when I spoke to the owner to get information I was informed that the rate is R1700 per night. The furniture in the chalet is old and stained. The fridge did not work upon arrival and could only be repaired on the Saturday. At that cost and the condition of the chalet plus the inconveniancedue to the fridge we decided to only stay one night. We then booked in at Loskop dam for only R1500 with top quality accommodation. Very dissapointed.</p>"

"We had a lovely stay. This is a bird lover's paradise. We also enjoyed the small walking trail. The area around the swimming pool is lovely and nice to have a picnic. Kelvin is a very good person and gave me tips for catching trout. Because I had a heart operation he even cast my fishing rod for me! We had a problem with the TV and it was solved in minutes. Thanks Lesley. We had a very nice time!"
