  "Was a good peaceful place to chill for the weekend. There are a few things that need to be fixed (bathroom fittings for one & the speed of water in the bath) or upgraded. The small things like having tea & coffee available to the guests for their stay."

  "The drive to the Farmhouse was unexpected - the establishment doesn't warn visitors that there is a really rough gravel road. They should caution this for travelers with passenger cars that are relatively low and close to the ground. Otherwise, the Farmhouse and cottage were lovely to stay in - good facilities. We enjoyed the fireplaces and using the braai facilities. The DSTV didn't work in the Farmhouse though. There was also only one bathroom with a shower in the Farmhouse. We brought our own electric blankets for the beds because it gets extremely cold at night. We enjoyed our stay and made the most of the peace and quiet around us."

  "I loved the decor, it was beautiful and simple. Since we went towards winter it would have been nice to be told to get fire place wood earlier so we wouldn't have to drive back to the shops which was quite a distance and also feel they should have advised on the type of road needed to get to the location, it was not comfortable for a normal low car. Other than that I had a wonderful and peaceful stay"

  "We thoroughly enjoyed our two day stay at the New Horizon cottage.The cottage itself is absolutely charming and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The setting is so beautiful and peaceful, with pretty views in every direction.The highlight is the loft bedroom's beautiful windows which allow you to watch the sun rises from bed each morning. The bedroom has almost a tree house feel with view of the tree canopies. We look forward to our next stay."

  "We had a pleasant two night stay at New Horizons Guest House, the place itself is exactly what one would look for in great value self-catering accommodation. There are however a number of pain points that need to be addressed to guarantee repeat customers. Flies were a real issue (could have been warned or at least given some repellent), hot water disappeared on the second night, kettle was broken, hangers were scarce (and wire) etc. With a bit more attention to detail this place can be truly amazing. <br/>"

  "We were very disappointed in the general upkeep and facilities at New Horizons.<br/>I really believe it is misrepresented on your site . Its the small things that matter when making a stay comfortable for guests . <br/>The photos on the site makes it appear very glossy and well kept ; the reality is however that the owners do not maintain the facilities .<br/>Its affordable yes , but if I had known the below mentioned I would have taken my business elsewhere .<br/><br/>For example :<br/>Stove plates and Oven not working .<br/>Wooden patio furniture falling apart.<br/>Kitchen cupboard doors falling off hinges .<br/>Crockery chipped and mismatched.<br/>Cracked skylights.<br/>Broken Television.<br/>No power outlets in one bedroom<br/>Very uncomfortable mattresses and beds<br/>Bathtub leaking water .<br/>Shower head barely spraying water .<br/>3 clothes hangers per closet ..<br/><br/>Hundreds of flies and no provisions made to dissuade the unhygienic nuisance (Fly traps , or UV Bug lights, a can of doom ) it became absolutely intolerable You expect some flies on a farm to be fair , but not to the biblical extent we experienced.<br/><br/>There is really no view except for a tractor plowing manure into the ground and the stench that the wind carries with it . Walking trails .. there are none .<br/><br/>I could carry on... lest to say overall the experience was just not pleasant . <br/><br/>I would not return nor reccommen it .<br/><br/>"

  "First thing i have to comment on is the house itself. the pictures don't do the space justice. Its beautiful, clean and tastefully decorated . My partner and i were quite impressed. We had a lovely time in this gorgeous and tranquil space. it had all the amenities we needed. Una and her staff made sure that everything we needed was at hand so that we can enjoy the privacy to unwind. I would recommend it to everyone who needs a break from the hustle and bustle of city life. We definitely will be staying here again!!!"

Pity that the DSTV wasn't working (the staff didnt seem to be very helpful in this regard) which made it difficult seeing that we were boxed in with two toddlers.   "Whilst the site does mention that two bedrooms share one bathroom, I had incorrectly assumed that the bathroom was between the two bedrooms. This was not so. The configuration is bathroom, bedroom, bedroom, in other words the second bedroom can only access the bathroom by walking through the first bedroom. indeed, it's the only way to have access to the rest of the house without walking outside. I feel that this configuration is ideal for families where you are able to have young-ones right next to you. In my case though we were three adult couples, who are used to their own privacy, and if I had known before booking I would have elected to find another place to stay. I'd like to re-iterate that apart from this the accommodation and site was very pleasant, and staff very helpful. And, if and when I have kids, I may well come back now that my expectations are properly set. I'd give this 4 stars out of 5, but am removing one star for it not being made clear what to expect in terms of the bedroom layout."

  "I spent the weekend away at New Horizons with my husband, my mom and our two large dogs to celebrate my 33rd birthday. New Horizons was everything and so much more than we had hoped for! The house is enchanting and beautifully furnished, catering to your every need. The enormous fenced-in garden was heaven for our two very energetic dogs. We were there in the middle of winter, but never noticed the cold, thanks to the many heaters and the lovely fireplace in the TV room, where we watched Super 15 rugby on the huge flat-screen TV. I took the dogs for a sunrise walk every morning and since there is only one house on the farm, we had the entire place to ourselves, which meant the dogs could run off-leash as far and for as long as they wanted. Pure bliss! We met the owner, architect Sandro Maag, whose personality and warmth was purely an extention of the beautiful house. He made us feel right at home and welcomed us like he had known us forever. This was the type of weekend getaway that dreams are made of and I can't wait to go back there!"
