  "Everything was great, the meeting by Werner on arrival (and the chats afterward), the help with luggage to the cottage by the friendly staff, the fire in the cottage because it is still "cold" at night, the appliances and utensils provided in the cottage, NO irritating TV's and music and the fire made for us for the braai. Perfect place for a couple to chill for a few days. Restaurants and pubs close by. Will definitely go there again."

  "It's so nice to get a warm, personal welcome at the gate as the sun is setting. The cottage is spacious, pristine and very comfortable. The braai was well-designed and the stoep was a pleasant place to relax and read. The pool was welcome after a hot day. Slept very well both nights and the stars were lovely in the evening."

  "Me and my partner went for a weekend getaway from the busy Gauteng life and we found exactly what we were looking for at Riverbend. Not only is the place beautiful but it was so peaceful and relaxing. We could have asked for a better weekend. Werner and his partner were so welcoming and went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and happy. They were the Perfect hosts. We really had a great time and we planning on going back next month for round 2. Thank you very much for a great time."

  "What a weekend! We had a great time. Werner and Herbert are so helpful. I got lost on the way there and they both helped me telephonically with "please drive safe" as a goodbye before ending the call. The unit we stayed in was clean and there was firewood waiting for us for our braai. We had to (unfortunately) leave early on Sunday without saying goodbye. Great was my surprise when Werner called to say goodbye! What a great weekend."

  "My wife and I recently booked a weekend getaway at Riverbend. We travel within South Africa as often as we can and love to take in the majestic offerings of this beautiful country. It was our first time at Riverbend and quite honestly I did not know what to expect. Just before our trip I started liaising with Werner, the owner of the cottages, and I can say that from the way he communicates I had a very good feeling that we would be well taken care of. The area is tranquil and abundant in bird life. The grounds are extremely well maintained and the owner, together with his on-site staff, are ever-willing to go the extra mile to make your stay that much more pleasant. Being city-slickers ourselves, we were quite surprised that the cottage did not have a TV and I guess that sums up the experience. We got lost in the beauty and peace that Riverbend has to offer. The cottages are spacious and have everything one would need to survive. It was built on eco-friendly principles and even though there is electricity, the stove and geyser run on gas. The grounds are always well maintained and the lapa area is big enough to cater for at least 15 people and overlooks a lovely pool. The grounds also boast a sundeck which overlooks a small river; be sure to carry insect repellent. If you're looking to tuck into a good book or simply relax then the sundeck will offer the peace you are looking for. Overall, I rate this as one of the better places I've stayed at and you can be guaranteed of excellent service. Thank you, Werner and team for a great experience."
