  "I loved our long weekend stay at Thaba-metsi. My 2 girls were constantly entertained with pony rides, tractor rides, feeding animals, swimming and long nature walks. I went for a run on the farm property, and was met with horses grazing and birds chirping around me. Our house was wonderful, with absolutely everything we needed - and even farm fresh eggs from the little shop on the premises. We loved it, and will return in future."

  "The whole experience was amazing, Thabametsi delivered on what it promises, it is not a resort but a farm. While access to the farm is a bit of a challenge as the 8 km stretch road leading to the farm is treacherous but it adds to the whole experience. But overall we had a wonderful stay and the staff at the farm was just awesome."

  "What an amazing weekend - we are beyond thrilled to have finally found the perfect weekend family getaway within a short drive of Jo'burg!<br/><br/>From the incredible staff to the well-equipped cottages to the vast range of activities on offer, Thabametsi has it all. Our daughter was kept busy from dawn till dusk with pony rides, tractor rides, donkey cart rides, feeding the animals, swimming in the lovely shallow pool, playing in the games room and running around in nature. And my husband and I managed to shrug off our city stress and R-E-L-A-X to the max.<br/><br/>Thank you to Judy and staff - we will definitely be back soon for another Thabametsi fix."

  "Thabametsi farm is a place of peacefulness and relaxation. Lovely facilities for the children and friendly staff. David makes sure the kids get the fill of the donkeys, chickens, goats, geese and even a turkey. Will recommend it to everyone with young children, plenty of open space to run and play, places to ride their bikes, a beautiful swimming pool with a relaxing view. The cottage we stayed in was Lavender cottage and was perfect, very well appointed with everything you need for your self-catering plus a lovely stoep with braai area."

  "We stayed in the owl cottage and enjoyed it very much. The layout of the cottage is very good and it was very neat and clean. In the braai area the ground is like sea sand which was very nice. It was a pity we could not fish or canoe as the water level was very low. The sound of the rain on the tin roof was so nice and it rained both nights.It is a pity that we only met the owner when we left. She is very friendly and the farm staff is also very helpfull and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay and will recommend this place to all our friends!!!"

  "We had such a wonderful stay at OWL COTTAGE.<div><span style="font-size: 1em;">The staff are very accommodating, the</span><span style="font-size: 1em;">cottage is perfectly well equipped, and the bird life is unbelievable!</span><div><div>Owl cottage is set up the hill, away from the other cottages and has a lovely private outside area behind it.</div></div></div><div>We had a wonderful time and definitely recommend it if you are after a relaxed, quiet weekend away. We will be back! </div>"

  "This is the perfect place to go to if you need to get away from the city. The best part - no MTN cellphone coverage so hubby couldn't make or receive any work calls - which means that he could relax fully. We celebrated my mom's 70th birthday there and the workers sang to her and we even got 2 bottles of champagne from Management."

  "We enjoyed our stay at Thabametsi! Perfect farm experience for little kids. Our boys (3,5 years and 10 months) loved the tractor ride, pony ride, feeding the animals, the jungle gym, the swings, the game room and even the huge dogs. But what kid wouldn't? Judy, Keith and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Lavender cottage has 2 rooms so you don't have to go to bed at the same time as your kids. Even I enjoyed it and I am not a farm person at all. We will definitely come back!"

  "We had the privilage of staying at Thabametsi for a week. We had an incredible time. The absolute quiet and serenity made us as a family come closer together. Granted the units are a bit on top of each other, so privacy is not high. Our children truly enjoyed the tractor and horse rides. I would suggest if you enjoy fishing to take your fishing gear. Please note, if you want to relax and escape your children, find a pleasure resort, as here you have the nature and yourself. If you want to bond with your children, I would rate this as family get away, nothing else. We went with our bakkie, so enjoyed watching the sunset from on top the koppie. Fabulous!"
