  "We stayed in the Brick Cottage, a very unassuming venue with no airs and graces. The beautiful sweeping views made up for any deficit inside. There were four of us, six would have been a squash. You do need a sturdy car to get there via a dirt road and a steep, rocky access road. if you are afraid of or do not like dogs, this is not the place for you. There are four on the property and they can be boisterous. The wood fire was great. As this is a self catering venue a larger, newer fridge would have been better, there were no ice trays in the freezer and it could have been colder. A double sink in the kitchen for rinsing the dishes would have been nice (there is only one sink). Only having one shower (small) can be tricky of everyone prefers to shower. But it was good enough for a slow, relaxing looong weekend at a good price."

  "I stayed in the wooden hut. It has a view over the other nearby plots down the hill. The flora at the cottage are indigenous, but the same cannot be said about the neighbouring plots. There are barking dogs at each plot which can be disturbing at times. One can also hear the trucks on the national road to Rustenburg. If you want total peace and quite, this might not be the ideal place to visit. But it was nice to get away from the busy city buzz. The hut has a nice rustic feel to it and the price per person is reasonable."

  "Close to Jhb but you feel far away from the city. Beautiful and peaceful setting with a lovely view. Hilde was very helpful and the accommodation was immaculately clean and had all the necessities. Outdated furnishings and decor but this didn't diminish our enjoyment of our time away."

  "Lovely spot, close to Jozi for a relaxing weekend away. Hilda was welcoming on arrival and the perfect host. The cabin has everything you could think of and some wonderful personal touches - like hot water bottles! The view is so stunning, words don't even do it justice. Feels safe and secure with gates to lock up at night and absolutely tranquil. Lovely jetmaster to warm up on winters evenings. Neat as a pin! We did not want to leave and would recommend to any couple needing to relax and get away."

  "I would recommed this to any one anytime. The position of the cottage is marvellous. Breathing expansive landscape. The Magalies Mts. They never cease to draw ones interest. Hilde is meticulously welcoming. She made us feel as if the place was being handed over to us for permanent ownership. And that is the stay felt like.   "<p>I stayed at the Veldflora Country Cottage over the weekend of 3 - 5 June.</p><p>And what a pleasant surprise this place is. Settled on top of a hill, overlooking the valley below, it is peaceful and quiet. </p><p>The first thing you notice about the accommodation, is that it is cosy and very warm. Then the view appears, which is wonderful. The fireplace is ideal for those cold evenings. It heats up the whole place. Just perfect!</p><p>Everything that is required of a peaceful and relaxing place. </p><p>I highly recommend Veldflora Country Cottages to anyone that would like a great relaxing and peaceful escape from the city hustle and bustle.</p><p>It is accessible by any car, no need for an off road vehicle (I made it with a C-class Benz, effortlessly).</p><p></p>"

Being able to sit outside and enjoy the view was a welcome change from the usual hustle and bustle. Although some km on a dirt road, it was nevertheless a most relaxing experience."

  "After a few stressful weeks we needed a peaceful mini-break not too far from Joburg. We found it at Veldflora. The comments by other reviewers, the good price and the picture of simplicity in the photographs inspired me to book. Hilde's prompt response, on a Sunday!, reassured me that this was the place we wanted. At R770 per night (for two people) we got a comfortable, cosy and spotlesslyclean cottage, uninterrupted views of the tranquil Magaliesburg valley, a fully stocked kitchen and braai area, a perfect night for stargazing, a beautiful Sunday morning on the stoep and a decadent afternoon nap. Did I mention the loadshedding back-up plan thoughtfully provided by Hilde? What a great spot for some solitude and space."
