Hennie's Rest Guest House

Hennies Rest is situated on the banks of the Crocodile River overlooking the Kruger National Park a mere 5 km from Malelane Gate, the famous Leopard Creek as well as the Malelane Golf course and 45 km from Komatipoort Golf Course and famous Sophies Bistro. We are 50 km from Mozambique, 40 km from Swaziland and 5 km from sport facilities like golf, tennis, squash, bowls, rugby and a gym. All are available for day visitors.

This spacious self-catering house has three bedrooms, a living and dining room, own kitchen and patio, all fitted with air-conditioning. Bedroom 1 has a double bed with river view. Bedroom 2 has a king-size bed, an en-suite bathroom, and a balcony and river view. Bedroom 3 has a queen-size and a single bed. The house can accommodate up to seven people.

To virtually be on the river with drink in hand, steak sizzling on the fire, whether game spotting, bird watching or simply enjoying an awesome African sunset is a truly memorable experience. Look out for the leopard that makes his appearance every now then, and elephant sometimes drink from the swimming pool. Alternatively laze in the pool or bask in the Malelane sun while observing crocodile and hippo in the river below, listening to the Fish Eagles call in the distance.

Being situated on the 'Maputo Corridor' N4 and forming part of the wild frontier of Mpumalanga, Malelane is the ideal place to stay, be it for business, holiday or leisure.

"We wanted to book somewhere with nature on our doorstep, a swimming pool, comfort, safety and close to a Kruger National Park Gate.<div><br /></div><div>Hennie's Rest was all round value for money and everything we wanted it to be for our holiday. From the balcony and swimming pool we saw Rhinos, Elephants, Buffalos, Crocodiles, Hippos, Baboons and a lot of different types of bucks. "A two- storey house with great views from each deck; saw many elephant,hippos, impala and other animals drinking in the Crocodile river. "One very rarely reads a description of a place and in reality the experience surpasses that description! If I hadn't gone into Kruger everyday that would've been okay because the 'wild' comes to you - just about to the edge of the patio. A herd of elephant entertained us for hours until we couldn't see them anymore only hear them. These up close encounters with elephant are beyond thrilling. We saw a Waterbuck family grazing at our doorstep and I kept watch as a Kingfisher expertly caught its breakfast. We heard Hyena and Hippo at night. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated with breathtaking views of the Crocodile river. I will be recommending this place to everyone. The Greenberg's"

Sitting in the pool overlooking the river whilst the herd of elephant crossed,the hippos grazed, the crocodile appeared, the waterbuck came to drink, and the abundant bird life chattered, was just amazing.
