Fynbos Estate

Fynbos Estate, home to Dragonridge Wines, is situated in the beautiful Paardeberg near Malmesbury in the Swartland, just an hour from Cape Town. It offers comfortable spacious country accommodation with stunning views of the valley, vineyards and the mountain nature reserve.

Farm Accommodation
Cottages and houses cater for, from a couple, to families, groups of friends, wedding and celebration guests and large groups of up to 45 people for workshops and retreats. Accommodation includes an original Victorian Farm House, Honey Badger House, Caracal Cottage, Black Eagle House and Owl Cottage, and in total the estate can accommodate 45 people sharing.

Activities
There are plenty of outdoor activities, including walks in the nature reserve, bird watching, mountain cycling, swimming in the pool at the foot of mountain and chilling on the many verandas. Lawns, open spaces, a jungle gym and the possibility to pet rescue animals, make it a haven for children. Accommodation is pet friendly in selected cottages.

Meals for groups
While accommodation is set up to be self-catering, we offer delicious country meals for groups of 10 people or more. Wine tastings of our naturally made wine (in the traditional style of 1900s) is available with our winemaker by appointment.

There is cell phone reception in or near to each building, a television with DVD in the farmhouse only and a screen for video/ DVD in Honey Badger. Wi-Fi connectivity with free unlimited internet access is available in all accommodation, workshop and function areas

We are Pet Friendly in selected accommodation. Pet rates are R50 per day per pet.

    "Staying in Caracal Cottage was perfect for a family of 3, and it had everything we needed. We enjoyed the swimming pool at the farmhouse on a hot afternoon. Also enjoyed feeding carrots to the donkeys. The birdlife is wonderful with 52 species recorded for the weekend."

    "We really enjoyed our stay at Fynbos Estate. We stayed at the Caracal Cottage which had everything we needed. The fans were really appreciated seeing it was very hot at the time we visited. Bed - super comfy! The views were lovely, and the pool at the main house was a godsend in the hot weather! The one downside was the flies - but it is a farm so possibly expected and maybe particularly bad at the time of year we visited. It just made going for long walks hard which was a little disappointing. Otherwise highly recommend!"

    "The directions to Fynbos Estate are 100% correct and very thorough which made the journey all the more pleasant and relaxing. We were greeted warmly and arrived to a beautiful, extremely comfortable cottage which had been aired, refrigerator had been turned on and was already cold with full trays of ice! The gardens are rich with vibrant green and birds of all varieties became our friends for the weekend. We went hiking over the estate for over fours hours! Enjoying the views of the farmlands and even saw the Table Mountain Range! The winelands are so beautiful and we were able to cool off in a stunning pool! The owners are very friendly and felt very comfortable being on their farm for the weekend. We arrived to two huge crates full of old vines to burn - which makes braaing an unbelievable experience! Thank-you THank-you! Your home is so beautiful and we will definitely be coming back."
