Mopane Bush Lodge is a tranquil bush retreat with attentive personal service at affordable rates. Ideally located for visits to Mapungubwe National Park and the ancient Kingdom of Mapungubwe (a UNESCO world heritage site). Mopane Bush Lodge nestles in the Mopane Bushveld on our private 7200ha nature reserve, Mapesu Private Game Reserve.
We offer luxury fully catered accommodation, in 15 secluded twin bedded en-suite thatched chalets. One wheelchair friendly, each within its own kraal incorporating an outdoor shower. As well as 4 self catering chalets.
Delicious meals simply prepared are served in our spacious dining room, in the boma around a fire under the stars, in the lapa around the pool or in the bush. The comfortable lounge, with small library, provides the ideal retreat for those leisurely moments.
We arrange guided tours to the following attractions; Mapungubwe National Park, the ancient Kingdom of Mapungubwe, San Rock art, specialized predator tracking and birding safaris including a significant wetland.
Activities on the nature reserve included in the rate include bush drives, game tracking, birding and in a safe environment with the option of a guide.

02 May 2012"We had a great long weekend at Mopane. Its the best base to use if you want to explore the Mapungubwe area. The accommodation is excellent, the hosts are warm and charming and the food is outstanding! Its not often you experience gourmet dining around a campfire. The tours of the site, the rock art and the Park were outstanding. Highly recommended."
