"The place is beautiful, clean, spacious and have all the necessary things, like iron, ironing board, crockery, etc. Next to entertainment places. Problems we encountered and concerns: We couldn't open the balcony and we sent sms to Alfonso notifying him of the problem and there was no response in such a way that we ended up not having a braai. We took back charcoal and blitz that we bought and grilled our meat. The water was cold through out the week-end, we had to use the kettle in order to have a hot bath. Concern: We were charged R200 fine for late coming although the situation was beyond our control, it was due to an accident and we did notify the relevant person that we were stuck in traffic. It was our first experience being charged for late coming. We've been in different places in South Coast, ie. San La meer and arrived there at 22h00 and were not charged.

Establishment's response

We have a 4 hour time frame to allow guests enough time to arrive between 14:00 and 18:00.

After 18:00 we need to pay our staff members overtime to sit at the office and wait for guests that arrives late.

Therefore we have a late-arrival penalty fee of R200 that is not negotiable.

The sms that you are talking about – I cannot recall receiving such sms and in any case, I don’t sms. It is a waste of time.

If an urgent problem arises like a door that you cannot open or the lack of hot water I think it is important enough to make an immediate phone call to report the problem.

We have a 24hour stand-by maintenance team that could attend to the problem right away, but I cannot make your stay comfortable if you have complaints 2 weeks after departure."
