Nestled in the popular coastal town of Margate is a superbly located and neat self-catering apartment with 2 bedrooms AND 2 bathrooms in a fully secure complex. A full balcony provides guests with panoramic 180-degree sea views. A BIG advantage to this apartment is that it has a ground level entrance from the save parking area which means NO stairs into or inside the unit but facing the ocean, it is on the second floor, which offers the fantastic sea and breaker view from the balcony as well as from inside the unit. As bonus the sound of waves are clearly audible on the balcony and even inside the unit. Dolphins and whales are regularly spotted from the unit. A swimming pool, tennis court, laundromat and barbecue area are on the premises. Includes one under cover parking bay inside the secure premises. This complex is on a prime beachfront site, just metres away from the beach, rocks with rock pools and beautiful tidal pool. Less than 1 km from Margate main beach and town center, offering numerous restaurants, shopping and entertainment facilities as well as less than 3 km from Ramsgate beach and the famous The Waffle House.There is a newly build boardwalk starting below the complex and running along the beach to Margate's famous main beach with stairs along the way leading on to secluded beaches. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen for self-catering. Bed linen is provided but please bring own towels, toiletries and extra toilet paper. Additional cleaning available on site. There is a flat screen TV and decoder with full DSTV (Premium service) in the lounge. Ceiling fans in the lounge and bedrooms. NO SMOKING inside. NO pets allowed.

"This apartment in a secure complex offers amazing ocean and breaker views with the sound of waves through the apartment. Well equipped for a self-catering holiday at a very reasonable price. Located in a quiet area on the beach and also not far from the main beach with shops/restaurants."

"We only stayed 1 day of the 5 days. They did maintenance work on the premises and in front of our front door from 7h00-16h00. I would also suggest that the owner do some maintenance work inside the flat and also the tv cabinet. The kitchen is not up to standard. The picture for advertising is awesome. The view is beautiful. Establishment's Response: We unfortunately were not aware of the off season maintenance to the complex, as we live in Musina, Limpopo. We apologized that this took place during your stay and expressed our deepest regrets for any inconvenience caused more than once which we thought you have accepted more so after you mentioned that Its a very nice place but the maintenance is to noisy.We went out of our way to organize alternative accommodation and paid your money back for the 4 nights even after the complex manager assured us it was not that noisy and disturbing inside the units, as he also resides in the complex in one of the units.POTENTIAL GUESTS please read the other reviews, then form your opinion regarding the fairness and merit of this review."

"We had an excellent time. The view is great. Easy access to the sea and the pool was great for afternoon cooling off.The bed in the master bedroom wasn't that comfortable, it could be replaced in my opinion.Overall we had a terrific holiday and would definitely consider staying there again."

"Unfortunately we were not happy with our stay at Chesapeake Bay 30 and feel it was definitely not worth the price that we paid per night. I have stayed in much nicer units at a much less price and in the centre of Margate! We had endless hassles with the unit. The TV was not working properly when we arrived there. The fridge stopped working over the weekend (which apparently had happened numerous times before). We had to throw away over R600 worth of groceries that we purchased and spent New Year's Eve drinking hot drinks!! We were also allocated an extra parking bay (which was pre-arranged before we arrived) only to end up having an argument with the people that arrived last week Thursday that were renting that number unit. We were then allocated another parking bay which was also taken when we arrived back from our day out on Friday. Surely the caretakers (Johan Cronje and wife) would have been aware that they had people arriving on these days but we were not informed at all! The caretakers are very unorganised and are not maintaining the units. We had to complain numerous times and they never bothered to follow up with us to see whether the TV or fridge was in proper working order after it was supposedly repaired. This was the first time that we have been on holiday and had to spend time complaining and waiting for things to be repaired! The unit is also very old and rusted and it is obvious that it is not being maintained. I will never stay in that same complex again nor will I recommend it to anyone. It was an absolute nightmare and ruined our holiday and ended up costing us more money due to all the groceries that we had to throw away!"
