  "La Mer 16 is a great place to stay, just a sorry that the place needs urgent attention and equipment is not up to standard...only 2 coffe mugs, no braai tongs and other shortages. Still a good holiday destination."

  "Nice place with a nice view, but the place isn't too well looked after. Aircon was broken. Fans in bathrooms didn't work. Tv didn't work. And, there is virtually no utensils in the kitchen. Just enough to get by, so don't plan on any real cooking. Margate's also a bit of crummy noisy place.<br></br> <b>Establishment's response</b> <br></br> <i>Hello there,<br></br> The airconditioning units were hit by lightning we think on it was with the storm we had on the Friday 7 December, which caused the compressor of the aircon in the lounge not to work. The aircons in the bedrooms were working fine, as the client sent a message a couple minutes after reporting the aircons that he reported faulty was indeed working he figured out how to use the remotes, but the aircon in the lounge was not coming on at all. Furthermore they went in to inspect the units and have them replaced the very next day the client phoned. The lounge air conditioning unit was brought up from Durban and replaced in the unit on the 14th of December 2012 and everything was operational again. The TV in the unit does work but the client had neglected to bring along a DSTV card to insert in the machine. Both guests before and after them have used the facilities without any complaints. Kitchen utensils cutlery and crockery are all equipped to cater for 6 guests and the units are all fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer etc. Brand new braai and lounge suite was brought in the day before the client arrived. As for the area - it is a holiday destination sitting in peak season and unfortunately impossible to control the amount of people that visit the area and or noise. We are sorry the client found this accommodation to be unsatisfactory and or not to their liking - perhaps they would be better suited next time to a place like TREE HOUSE which is located in Palm Beach where is it more idyllic and quiet and a lot less commercial - perhaps you could suggest this to them next time round.</i>"

  "This is first class big enough every thing are there to make your stay comfortable for the kids age 16 and 18 and for us.When 16 was not available we were informed before we arrived to take nr 8 thanks. This will become our family holiday place."

  "This unit is not 150m away from the beach, more like 500m. There is no air-con, the fridge was not working for the first 2 days and the kettle didnt work. The street in front of the unit was a party place for about 60 taxi's and their occupants, so no sleep from 30 Dec till 2nd Jan, as these people went on and on. Three days non stop, throwing us on the balcony with beer bottles etc. So we were flat bound as it was a risk even going out. Overall, worst experience of my life, and not happy at all. For R14 000 I paid, I should have stayed at home and enjoyed new years in JHB. And no deposit returned as yet."

  "If they say 'self-catering', they mean self-catering! Not even a dishcloth or dish rack. No extra blankets for those chilly nights. No toilet paper! They should let you know that there is nothing in the flat then we will come more prepared. Otherwise the place was clean and very spacious."

  "Got there not really knowing what to expect as pictures can tell a lie, but was amazed at the apartment, Fantastic views, tastefully decorated with all the amenities you would like on holiday, Close to all shops and center of Town. All in all we had a great time and will definitely being going back."
