Croc River View

Croc River View (previously Eden Game Lodge) is a comfortable bush lodge finished in all natural materials to make you feel like you are at home in the bush.
The house has a unique concept, where the main living area is entirely on the first floor, with most bedrooms located downstairs. In the upstairs living area, there is a modern open-plan kitchen, a dining room and a leather lounge suite. This area flows onto the covered patio and barbecue area for al fresco dining. We also have an en-suite splash pool and a large sun deck for catching the rays in the comfy deck chairs. All modern appliances and kitchen fittings are provided for you to enjoy your self-catering holiday in the style you are accustomed to. There is a choice of wood or charcoal barbecues available on the upstairs patio for dining and relaxation.
This elevated position offers great views over the river and it means that there is always a nice breeze to cool you down.
The master bedroom is on the first floor which offers an open-plan double bath and basin, a private double shower and an en-suite toilet and bidet room. The bath is alongside its own large folding door which allows you to enjoy your bath with the feeling of being in the bush, or you can use the separate outdoor shower.
Downstairs, we offer two large double bedrooms with queen-size beds and en-suite bathrooms, and there is a third bedroom with four single beds. The downstairs area has a large lounge and a TV for keeping the kids entertained in the evenings. Please bring your own play station or DVD player for the downstairs TV. There is also a covered patio, garage, and carport complimented by a boma for evening campfires and bush braais.
The house is completed with the third level of the game viewing deck which allows seating for up to eight people while sipping drinks and viewing the hippos in the Crocodile River and the rhinos in the Kruger National Park on the opposite bank. The house offers a truly fantastic opportunity to just relax, enjoy the company of friends and revel in the unspoiled bush and animal life. Armed response, standby security and DStv. We supply all linen, towels, basic coffee and tea.

  • "Spectacular Experience with Nature"

    06 September 2020

"It was amazing, from the balcony we saw looking into the park, leopard, lion, elephant, zebra, Giraffe and so much more. From the outside our windows, we had daily visit from Kudu, bush-pig, mongoose, bush baby, impala."

  • "Amazing Stay"

    31 December 2019

"Our group had an amazing stay in the Croc River View house. All 9 adults had comfortable sleeping arrangements. The house features an open concept living room, dining room, kitchen, and deck area which was enjoyed. The upper deck has views of the river and Kruger. Enjoy a drink while viewing giraffe and more! The only marginal downside to the place was that the master bedroom is so much better which makes for inequity when three couples are sharing the place..... minor issue really! The air conditioning was a definite must as temperatures in Kruger topped 40 C."

  • "Lion viewing every day at the river. Bushbaby visits every evening"

"Enjoyed our stay, would definitely return"

  • "Comfort"

    04 January 2018

"We loved the view, air conditioners in the rooms and the swimming pool. The house is very comfortable and spacious. Basic cleaning was done before we arrived, but we could see that it hasn't had a deep clean in a while (toilets were dirty, old toothbrush underneath the bed, hair in the showers), but all in all we enjoyed our stay."

  • "Marloth park weekend"

    05 April 2017

"Nice place but not well maintained. We got there on a Saturday afternoon, the place was so dusty and there were spider webs everywhere. Clearly the last time it was cleaned was when the other people left. Our stay started with us cleaning the house. The bedroom door of the room closest to the garage can only be unlocked from outside the room. The place could use a bit of an update, just changing the curtains would make such a big difference. The kids really enjoyed the pool and seeing the animals come up so close to the house. Overall it was a great stay just really disappointed about having to clean when I got there. Oh and there is no cellphone reception, which was a bonus for me."

  • "Stay at Eden Game Lodge"

    14 October 2014

"We had an amazing time, definitely a place to just go and relax and enjoy nature around you. Will definitely be back next year again."

  • "Pleasant stay"

    13 October 2014

"Pros: Location in Park ideally close to river. Lodge spacious, comfortable and neat. Splash pool & upper viewing deck very convenient. Will visit again.Cons: Stairs to first landing definitely need hand railings. Maintenance issues need attention.Suggestion: Feeding baskets for Lucerne need to be installed as neighbouring lodges have them and attract wildlife away from Eden Game Lodge."

  • "Lovely venue in a perfect setting"

    06 August 2014

"The house was lovely and beautiful and set in an absolutely perfect setting in the bush. The house does however require some maintenance which you should look at as people are paying a premium to rent it - a list was made if you would like it shared. I would also suggest the house be serviced perhaps every 2nd day, it is quite large and for the cost it really seems appropriate. I would also suggest a few little safety features like gates on the stairs as it is rented out as a family friendly venue which includes small children. Other than the maintenance the house really is well equipped and positioned. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

  • "EDEN GAME LODGE"

    06 May 2014

"We had an awesome stay at EDEN GAME LODGE and we loved the house and the way it was set up the view is great from the top deck and the way it is positioned in MARLOTH PARK really makes you feel you in the bushthe pool on the second floor is magic. We had a great holiday"

  • "Long weekend get away"

    02 April 2014

"Due to the road works we arrived very late at night. Our confirmation gave no details as to where and who to collect keys from. The person who had the keys was fortunately in the area so we got the keys - thankfully since the call centre was closed so not sure what we would of done if she was not nearby. The house itself was very comfortable however at the rate charged one would think it would be serviced. We were not informed that basic commodities would be available. We were given one black bag for 4 days refuse (6 people) and enough dish washer granules for 2 dishwasher cycles. Downstairs aircon needs servicing as it does not cool the room as the upstairs ones do. The top viewing deck should be cleaned out as animal droppings fall down onto the table below. I do feel as South Africans the rate was rather steep for this little get away and think that the place itself is a little gem if maintained and cleaned properly."

  • "Eden Game Lodge"

    06 January 2014

"Upper deck does help in creating African bush atmosphere but the rest of the home is awkwardly planned and all the warnings and alert signs depress the holiday atmosphere and do not invite the guest to relax and possibly consider a return visit. Not a good experience for us unfortunately."

  • "Great location"

    11 December 2013

"This review has to be in german because our group was german and all has to be on a german point of view:empfangen wurden wir von einer riesigen herde elephanten am fluss den unser weg nur durch den zaun trennte. grossartig ! was fuer ein toller anblick. der pflegezustand und sauberkeit im haus wuerde ich mit 4 bewerten. die ausstattung der kueche als 4 - ! man sollte nur grillen niemals kochen ! weder toepfe, kuechengeraete noch gasvorrat sind dafuer geeignet. die betten waren ordentlich und die handtuecher auch. aber bitte nicht pingelig sein !!! die schluesseluebergabe ohne probleme oderverzoegerungen. sehr entgegenkommend.aber........eine hervorragende aussicht, ein guter start in den krueger NP, ein guter platz fuer freunde, eine grosse familie und kinder so ab 6 jahren (absturzsicherungen etc.)warum man werder whirlpool, plunge pool noch swimming pool in suedafrika ertraeglich aufheizen kann verstehe ich auch nach 14 jahren intensiver reisetaetigkeit nicht !!!!"

  • "Excellent accommodation"

    11 January 2012

"My stay at Eden Game Lodge surpassed my expectations. The house is well furnished, the splash pool is big enough for its purpose and there are enough air-conditioning units to keep the house cool during hot summer days. I highly recommend Eden Game Lodge for accommodation near the Kruger Park."
