In the heart of the Breede River Valley lies the quaint little town of McGregor with its preserved 'historical village' image and an energy that people love. The Loft is situated in the town but on the outskirts of McGregor village overlooking the veld and distant mountains. This is an ideal cottage for a quiet weekend getaway and for exploring the Breede River Winelands.
We offer a quiet, spacious, self-catering apartment that can accommodate up to four guests, great for a small family. The Loft has an en-suite bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen and dining area.
Walking is a favourite pastime for all villagers and visitors. The Saturday morning market is a highlight and meeting place for locals, as are the pubs, coffee shops and restaurants around the village. Traditional architecture has been maintained and new buildings have kept this theme in mind. Although the latest buildings are modern, all have the 'McGregor' feel to it. Vineyards abound in the area, as do fruit and olive farms.
"The accommodation etc. was great!"
"The shower should be replaced with a proper sealed unit.no matter what we tried to keep water from leaking out nothing worked. The results being the water pouring through the ceiling into the kitchen below.otherwise very clean and neat great hospitality.."
"thank you so much to our hosts, we had a lovely stay in your beautiful loft. Very dog and child friendly."
"If you are looking for peace and tranquility -this is it! Stunning location, peaceful town and amazing hosts! Sally and Pip were so accommodating. Very pet friendly and comfortable self catering accommodation. Very close to a nature reserve where the puppies could run free and swim in the dam. One happy family that will certainly be back when we need to escape the rat race. Thanks again.<div>Judy & Stephen & Breeze & Light</div>"
"Our hosts Sally and Pip were great. The location is quiet but within close walking distance to all the places. Very dog friendly - excellent place to explore McGregor"
"The loft is quite a nice place to stay if you are not taking any children and don't plan on doing any cooking. There is an extemely dangerous staircase that is actually quite deadly. Adults will struggle to get down it. We had to cordone the whole thing off for our small son. Then if you plan to do cooking, note tht there is no microwave, and the stove (while does work) is rusty on the plates. There is also no lounge downstairs, only a few chairs and a small table. Be aware as well that the owners (while very friendly people) do store a deep freeze, and and old wasting machine there. When we were there they also stored some of their own things in the fridge. I wouldn't advise people with pets to go there as the place is dangerous for pets. Otherwise beds were ok, shower and toilet were clean and the place was generally clean. So if you are a few adults and simply want a place to sleep at night, then the loft will work for you."
"We really enjoyed it; it was cosy and felt welcoming. It is also family friendly and the kids were very sweet."
