"The whole place needs improvement! Rooms not standard, furniture, bedding etc in a very poor state. Room smelled of tabac i.e. previous visitors must have smoked in the room. The landlord were atleast friendly.

Establishments response:

It is bad to get a poor review, but I take note of this guest's comments. Incidentally, I bought new pillowcases and towels on the day
of their stay. Regarding the furniture: the imbuia chair that is in the room is an heirloom and the upholstery was redone and the furniture
in the dining room is also from my husband's grandparents. Regarding the tobacco odour: my sense of smell is not good because
my husband picked up a faint smell. We have "no smoking " signs in all the rooms.
On the morning of their departure, I offered them a breakfast and they got it for free. After they left I went into their room and saw to my dismay that the staff did not put a flat sheet on one bed. I sent the
guest an e-mail apologising for that and also that I was sorry that they left without me greeting them. I got no response"

"We were kept up most of the night with dogs barking. Not very happy as at 1am still awake and got up at 4am to run the Loskop marathon. Not a good nights rest before a hectic day ahead. Not happy runners!!!Joan"

  • "Amazing!"

    25 February 2011

"We arrived late and were given a warm welcome by hostess Elsabe and host Johan, who interrupted a delicious braai dinner with other guests to book us in. They then invited us to join them for dinner, even though the meal was already more than halfway completed, and we had not booked for dinner. Dinner turned out to not only be a most enjoyable meal, but also a most amazing occasion with much laughter and interesting anecdotes, with hosts and fellow guests, over a couple of beers and glasses of wine. Our Afrikaans-speaking fellow guests were very charming and went out of their way to speak English to us. The room was very comfortable and well-appointed, and we were able to enjoy an excellent night's sleep, make full use of the very clean ablutions and enjoy a great English breakfast, prepared extra early for us by Elsabe, before she wished us a safe trip for the remainder of our journey (after trying not to charge us for dinner and only accepting some payment when we insisted). A very special lady who runs a very pleasant guest house, where the comfort and care of guests is the priority. We will be back!"
