"The staff were very friendly and i highly recommend the restaurant. Unfortunately, there is not much to do at the hotel besides the pool and restaurant. However, it was just a stop-over point so not necessary for activities as such. It did not feel safe to go into the streets. We were greeted with street kids and beggars and in the evening there was a lot of noises from drunk locals. It is such a pity that a piece of History has to put up with the poor surrounds and degrading of the area. Our shower handle was broken and shower head was quite sad. The aircon basically didnt work. Beds were clean and comfortable,Hotel in general was very dated and could you some TCL (without taking away from its heritage and antique feels)."
"We have cancelled our booking through Safari Now more than two. Nothing happened. A Zero to Safari Now."
"This hotel is old and neglected ,aircons in rooms don't work properly . Mould in bathroom and on shower curtain . For the price I should have driven straight through to Port Elizabeth . In PE we are paying less for a 4 star hotel including breakfast . My advice to travellers avoid the stop over at Karoo Country lodge its not a pleasant establishment ."
"Quaint, clean and refreshing."
"We had a fantastic stop-over in the Karoo Country Inn. We found the staff to be friendly, the rooms were comfortable and clean."
"Not really worth it"
"We had the honeymoon suite which was great. Clean, comfortable and well equipped and reasonably quiet despite being directly above the Keg. Friendly and helpful staff made our stay pleasant and relaxing. The hotel doesn't serve dinner and the Keg isn't the greatest but the food was adequate and our waitress kept us entertained. We left before breakfast but from the looks of it the hotel puts on a decent spread."
"Lovey place to stay and good service."
"Spent a night on the way from Johannsburg to PE around 17th December, with 4 adults and 2 babies. Reasonable meal but great service at the in house restaurant. Good rooms with air-conditioning and a pleasant swimming pool. Nice people, good price. Will stay again."
"Very lekker!"
