Abu Madi Game Ranch

Abu Madi Game Ranch is a self-catering and catered safari lodge and a private game reserve situated in the heart of Zululand, making it an ideal half-way stop-over for guests traveling between Kruger Park, Swaziland and Mozambique from either Johannesburg or Durban.

This private game park is a sanctuary for the black rhino as well as home to the white rhino, elephant, buffalo, leopard and a host of other animals. Visitors, both local and international, self-drive tourists and families can be assured of a most affordable opportunity to experience and enjoy a wonderful break in the African bush.

We offer catered, or self-catering accommodation in our different lodge units as well as true out of Africa experience in our well-equipped bush camp where camping is also available. We have five different game viewing hides at the different water holes.

One is assured of the warm welcome of the owners upon arrival and their personal attention and passion in sharing their knowledge and experiences with young and old alike. It is a privilege for them to share their paradise with everyone who comes to visit and ensure that a visit to Abu Madi will definitely be an unforgettable experience.

Please note that there are three rate bases for the units in the Thatched Farmhouse Complex; Self-Catering at R541.00 per person per night, Bed & Breakfast at R671.00 per person per night and Dinner Bed & Breakfast at R818.00 per person per night.

"very good, nice place with great view.and lot of animalswe came there with our grand-daughter and did an inquire, for three persons but they quoted us for 2They told us on the farm that we must pay extra for here.they came with a price, they say but we did check it on the website it was more than the price of SafariNow.we had a bad feeling about that"

  • "REAL African experience"

    17 March 2014

"Unfortunately my 4 nights stay was during torrential rain and floods so I was restricted with my experiences. The accommodation was authentic "Out of Africa" with thatched roof, animal skin rugs etc..the real deal. You are free to drive yourself anywhere on the ranch so your animal encounters are natural. The hides near the waterholes were absolutely fantastic for animal/bird watching/photography. The porcupines visiting in the evening were amazing. If you want Africa with no pretense or artificial frills this is it."
