  "We loved the quietness, the setting and the farm.The beds in Mispel Cottage needs replacement. Bases are broken and old. Mattresses also not good quality. Bedding very nice and clean though.One need a giod night's sleep."

  "We loved our weekend stay at Mispel Cottage and a feel a weekend was definitely too short. The unspoilt nature of the reserve was so refreshing and the kids loved sitting around the fireplace at night. Although the accommodation is basic it was comfortable enough and very well kept.Thank you Wouter and Eliza for a wonderful stay."

  "I wanted to spoil my mother for her 75th anniversary and booked a week end at Bataleur. The farm road to the cottage is terrible, my mother's car is damaged. You will get a peaceful venue, with little antelope. You don't get what you read and see. The owner sounds friendly and the trials look nice."

  "The accomodation at the Cottage was comfortable and neat. It is a beautiful reserve with many hiking trails for both experienced and inexperienced hikers. We saw many different antelope, wildebeest and giraffe on our walks. Certainly worth a visit if you love nature walks."

  "Ons het 'n baie rustige en waarde-vir-geld naweek by die Natuurreservaat beleef. Alhoewel ons jou nie gesien het nie Wouter, het ons tog die indruk gekry dat julle baie "agter die skerms" doen om mens so tuis as moontlik te laat voel. Ons het dit werklik geniet en sal beslis weer soontoe gaan. We experienced a relaxing, value-for-money stay at this nature reserve. Although we didn't see you we got the impression that you did a lot behind the scenes to make us feel at home. We enjoyed it and will definitely visit again."

  "Very calm and quiet. There was a bush fire which ruined our hut. I accept that nature will restore itself shortly after the fire and then I advise that anyone who wants to breakaway from the busy year. There are fun hiking trails, just not clearly marked. Baie stil en rustig. Daar was 'n veldbrand wat my boshut vernietig het, maar my plaasvervangerhut wat netjies en goed ingerig. Ek aanvaar die natuurskoon sal binnekort herstel na die brand en dan beveel ek dit ten sterkste aan vir enige iemand wat wil wegbreek uit die dolle gejaar. Staproetes volop en 'n plesier, net bietjie onduidelik gemerk."

  "It was a absolute pleasure staying at the Bateleur Nature Reserve. An absolute must for a relaxing weekend with Wildlife on your doorstep. We saw Giraffe, Blesbok, Koedoe, Wildebeest, Eland, Tarentaal, Impala and beautifull Bird life. Had a awesome swim in the Rock Pools and enjoyed the Bush Braai everynight. It is such a safe place to walk around and Explore the beautiful scenery. Thanks for a wonderful weekend."

  "Bataleur was exactly what we were looking for. It was quiet and tranquil. All the accommodation was very private with spectacular views over the Waterberg. The trails were very well marked and the variety of trails gave opportunity for seasoned hikers as well as casual walkers. Take a mountain bike to explore the vast nature reserve. Swimming pool and rock pools were welcome after long hikes and bike rides in the blazing sun.We felt like we had the whole place to ourselves and overall it was a welcome break from JHB and the other jam-packed holiday resorts.definitely recommend it to those wanting to really escape.!"

  "The reserve is near Warmbaths We were greeted by staff althought it was close to 10:00 pm, still with a friendly smile at that hour in full uniform. The lights was switch on so that we could find our way. We were left alone and could do what we wanted. We were let loose in a 3 000 hectare Nature reserve with Kudu, Blue wild beast, Zebra, duiker roaming freely and you could walk to them within about 100m. We swam in the rock pool, where we find fish, crabs, we have taken pictures of locust, grasshoppers, dung beetles the size of an old R1 coin and lizards of diffrent sizes. We walked in mountains and in some areas we climb 70 m in height for every 100m. We watch the sun rise and watch the stars at night. The road was a bit scary for my bakkie but we managed. We walked through valleys and came down cliffs through kloof and one could imagine what the Voortrekkers went through to get here.At night it was quite with Night jars and animals snorting. And I must say there are one way in and one way out. So what you have was what you had. Our power went out during a severe thunder storm on Saturday afternoon/evening and we had dinner by candle light. It was romantic. The house we had had place for 5 people. 3 single beds in one room with private bathroom with shower and loo,and the other with one double bed with private bathroom with shower and loo Dining room and kitchen and 2 Verandahs one for looking towards the mountains and game the other at the back with the braai area and a mountain/koppie behind the house. Everything was clean and in its place, directions to the reserve was correct and was easy to find even at night. Wouter and his team have done wonders with this secluded and restful spot. This is not the place if you were looking for thrills and noise, this is a place to enjoy nature and to get some quite time with your family. You also get some good excercise. Thanks Wouter!! we will be visiting soon."
