• "Unique accommodation"

    13 August 2020

"Loved the quaint treehouse, the jet bath and the food. Staff were amazing. The only improvements needed are that The Romantic tree house was very cold and the heater did not work."

  • "Fun! Fun! Fun!"

    31 July 2017

"Loved our stay at Sycamore. Comfortable, quirky accommodation with the luxury of a fireplace and jacuzzi to make for a perfectly cosy (and lazy) escape from reality. The food was delicious, particularly our special-request dinner- absolutely superb.I am sorry that we booked for one night only and will definitely go back."

  • "FANTASIES AND FAIRIES"

    02 May 2017

"If you are looking for 5 star hotel accommodation - give this a miss --- This establishment is where dreams; fantasies and fairies are revisited. You would expect to see elves; gnomes; fairies and goblins frolicking in the gardens; such is the ambience created by the treehouses. As you arrive you are likely to be greeted by Tammy and Tommy(the resident sheepdogs), who will insist upon the obligatory kick of their rugby ball. Immediately upon arrival, Martin (manager) Gary (owner) and Florence (the culinary wizard) will make you feel part of the family --- nothing for them is too much trouble and if you twist Garys arm ever so slightly --- He will whip out his telescope and he will take you on a tour of the Galaxies way beyond our comprehension provided the sky is clearThere are 6 treehouses and each one is different and unique from Romantic to Bottle... You can never be bored! Romantic lives up to its name It is quirky; rickety, lopsided and full of little hand carved treasures; from wooden door hinges to door locking mechanisms everything a treehouse should be. The house in spite of being a treehouse is so warm and amazingly comfortable. You can relax in the Jacuzzi with a glass of your favourite drink and watch the sun set over Giants Castle or sit on the deck and watch the sunrise What more can a King and Queen want of their very own tree castle!!!The food which is served in the main dining room, is 5 star plus a lot more and there is plenty of it Highest quality. This is the ideal place to spend 2 or more days It is not a typical B&B --- This is for people who still have adventure in their soul and a child in their heart. I am already planning my next escape to the world of make believeOnly one small drawback -- A little bit of traffic noise from the N3."

  • "Wonderful Weekend"

    28 November 2016

"My husband and I had the most enchanting anniversary weekend in the Faraway Treehouse, with the quite setting, beautiful view and unique decor we felt like we where in a whimsical storybook. Sycamore really went the extra mile to make our stay extra special with the romantic set up. We will defiantly be recommend this spot to others."

  • "LIVING IN A TREE HOUSE!"

    10 November 2016

"My wife and I spent two nights in the romantic tree house as part of our honeymoon tour.

The accommodation is quaint, the food is excellent and the atmosphere is so relaxing.

Cannot understand why it's only a 3 star. I could not find any faults and have to highly recommend it for anyone who is still a child at heart!"

  • "One night stay"

    31 August 2010

"We stayed for one lovely night at Sycamore Avenue in the Faraway Treehouse. This is a special place and Bruce and Gloria were fabulous hosts - we shared a lovely evening meal with them and the following morning we were served a delicious breakfast. The treehouses are unusual and make for a special and exciting stay. We enjoyed the sunshine on the balcony and later lit the fire for a cosy evening. The treehouses are enchanting and cleverly designed - every comfort has been considered and included where possible."

  • "Truly a childhood dream come true"

    03 July 2010

"As a kid, I always wanted a treehouse but our space simply didn't allow for big trees in which to build one. So as an adult, when I stumbled across this quaint lodge, I just couldn't resist fulfilling a long-standing dream. And my hubby didn't need his arm twisted either. So off we went on our honeymoon to stay in a treehouse - and what an incredible experience it was! So authentic. So beautiful. So quaint. So much more than even my childhood imagination could have dreamed. And as creative spirits, we so appreciated the quirky little touches Bruce & Gloria put into the decor - look out for the "A/C" in the Romantic Treehouse ;)"

  • "Best Honeymoon destination in SA!"

    18 February 2009

"We stayed in the Bottle Treehouse on the last night of our honeymoon, and was extremely disappointed that we did not get there earlier! The treehouse is beautifully decorated with handmade woodcarvings! The mist rolling in from the mountains and the surrounding trees makes this the most romantic place I've ever been!We had a lovely dinner with our hosts, and the breakfast was brilliant!I'll recommend this place for everyone going on honeymoon, or just looking for a romantic weekend getaway! Just make sure that you have enough time, because as soon as you get there, you will find it hard to leave!"

  • "Totally relaxing....."

    22 October 2008

"We found the venue and room incredibly relaxing, to the extent that we feel more relaxed after two days than a week in another establishment. To hear the birds in the tree's canopy (instead of a TV) was extremely peaceful and it was great to leave the city stresses behind. It's location is convenient within the Midlands Meander and we thoroughly enjoyed driving the quiet roads as opposed to the busy toll road - one easily forgets the traditional lifestyle that exists just meters from the "fast lane". The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and we thank them all for their incredible hospitality."

  • "The Fantasy Tree House"

    24 July 2006

"We really enjoyed our stay in the Fantasy Tree House. The food was superb, the atmosphere inside the tree house was completely different as what we expected ( we felt like children again). Very friendly people and we felt at home. The woodwork are out of this world!!! What art - congratulations Bruce!"

"Sycamore is a 8/10 destination. The food was not that great but that was my only complaint. The Bottle tree house was enchanted and a must for a romantic weekend away!!"
