Wild Berry Guest Farm

This is a three star and A.A recommended accommodation. It is set in a lovely established garden with extensive lawns.

The accommodation consists of five self-catering/bed and breakfast cottages on a small farm where we look after rescued animals.

Each unit offers excellent, well-appointed accommodation with heaters, a TV, electric blankets, bathroom en-suite bathrooms. There are also braai facilities.

There is a lounge/dining area and kitchenette in all the self-catering cottages. A lovely dining room has been created for breakfast/teas.

A Guest Lounge; The Chicken Shack with a private bar is available, where you can socialise, watch your favourite programmes on TV or maybe sit and read. There is also a games room for the more active.

We have placed tables and benches together with a number of braais throughout the garden for you to take advantage of.

There are many activities to suite all ages in the area. Walks in the Drakensberg Mountains, visits to bushman paintings and the Hlatikhulu Crane and Wetland Sanctuary, horse trails through a private game reserve, canoe trips, canopy tours and the Midlands Meander with restaurants, fishing, horse riding, golf, bowls and tennis nearby.

"A charming host, lovely garden, friendly environment and very nice accommodation which made us wish we had had more time to enjoy this peaceful guest farm. We really appreciated the information provided on the nearby Drakensberg sites and local history. Pull off the highway on your way to the coast to get a refreshing night's sleep, or use as a base to explore nearby Giant's Castle and the Drakensberg park. Highly recommended."

We slept over on our way to the Transkei and was pleasantly surprised. The hosts are warm and friendly, without compromising your privacy. Everything is beautifully clean, neat and fully-equipped. Ideal for self-catering guests and set in peaceful surroundings. We had a great dinner in the local pub and breakfast was just as good. We will definitely recommend it to anyone."

  • " Great hospitality "

    03 May 2008

"We arrived late but Dave was very friendly and accommodating. We expected nothing more than a place to crash for the night. But Dave was sensitive to the needs of kids, so at the crack of dawn our son and daughter were feeding the donkeys, cattle and assorted farm animals. Great hospitality in clean and comfortable (if basic) cabin."

  • "Our stay at Wild Berry Guest Farm"

    10 July 2006

"Although it was very cold, we really found that the accommodation was lovely. The small things, like turning the blankets back and the sweets on the bed the hairdryer and candles on the table made us feel very welcome. My husband travels a lot and with all the extra's we think they could charge more for the accommodation . But in the winter they need to accommodate smokers because it is realy to cold to stand outside to smoke."
