The Merry Crab is a delightful self-catering beach resort carved out of the Admiralty reserve which fringes the Indian Ocean.

NO MORE DARKNESS. THE MERRY CRAB NOW HAS SOLAR TO KEEP YOUR LIGHTS, TV(OPVD), AND APPLIANCES SWITCHED ON DURING LOAD SHEDDING. THERE IS ALSO AN UNINTERRUPTED SUPPLY OF BOREHOLE WATER.

It is favoured by birders, golfers, and couples wanting to escape the ratrace. While the studios, casitas and cabanas offer the utmost in privacy there is also the lapa, poolside pub and Potjie Boma for those who feel like company. Units are serviced daily (in the mornings) and all one needs to bring are beach towels.

"The place was clean and the kitchen utensils were sufficient for a family of five. the place is peaceful and there is privacy. the staff are friendly and always at the ready to help. but as guatengers driving to the coast for the first time, it was a long trip. it would be better to stay at least for over week, excluding travelling time."

"We had a wonderful 6 night stay at the Merry Crab in April. Our unit was even cleaned every day by very friendly staff. Edward was especially helpful and nothing was too much trouble for him. Important to note that we felt very safe there and did not even bother to put valuables away in the unit's safe. Lovely little beach across the road and through a bit of indigenous forest. Elize and her team really make for an outstanding experience."

"We would highly recommend a stay at the Merry Crab. If you're looking for a quite place to rest and be surrounded by palm trees and other vegetation, then the merry Crab is the place to be. Also close to the beach approx 5 min walk. Rooms and linen were clean, staff also very helpful and friendly, and no musty coastal smell. LOVELY STAY in August 12-17th will definitely return."

"What an awesome, quiet, private little Casita we had for the 2 of us. Perfect for a real getaway from all the noise, business and irritations of normal every day life! We hardly saw or heard anyone around, which was exactly what we were after. The facilities are great, the unit has everything you would need, with parking included and communal entertainment area, if that's what you require i.e. pool, bar, lapa at reception. Thank you very much. Will be back some time, hopefully soon."
