Tropico House Guesthouse

Tropico House is conveniently situated in the centre of Langebaan town and offers comfortable accommodation, within close proximity to the beach, lagoon, restaurants, Langebaan Yacht Club, and the town centre.

Accommodation is provided in 6 guest rooms. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms. The rooms are equipped with double and or single beds. The rooms feature bar fridges, TVs with selected DStv channels, and tea- and coffee-making facilities.

There is a communal outdoor area with braai facilities, a kettle, 2-plate stove, and a toaster. This area is only available to one group at a time, therefore, guests need to book their slots with management.

Langebaan offers a host of activities and attractions for guests to enjoy such as bird watching, fishing, casino, horse riding, sea kayaking, paddling and canoeing, walking, golf, waterskiing, windsurfing, and wildflowers. The West Coast National Park is situated less then an hour away.

"My family and I journeyed excitedly on the last day of the year to spend a relaxed New Year's Eve and day in Langebaan. This was my first NYE spent with my family in 16 years as my seccond job is a DJ. When we arrived, I was greeted by the owner's mother who had a disdainful expression on her face. I told her that I had booked and paid for a room for the next two nights. She gruffly told me to wait while she clarified something with her daughter, the owner of the establishment, all the while making me stand outside in the billowing wind. She returned and handed me the phone, whereby the owner demanded to know where I had made the booking because she had been booked full since five days before. I was told there was no room available. I asked about my money, which had been already been deducted. She abruptly told me that it was not her problem and that I needed to sort that out with safari.com. This all at 16h30 on NYE. I tried to contact safari.com and even tried emailing them but to no avail.Needless to say my family vacation soured tremendously and luckily some family members were willing to put us up on blow up mattresses after hearing about the rejection.I am highly disappointed and my 4 year old daughter never wants to return to Langebaan again because someone stole our room."

"They do not have room cleaning services, one have to ask for that. I know it is bed and breakfast, but more necessities like utensils would have been nice. For the price, even after the discount, one would have expected more, like air conditioning or better TV channels etc."

"My stay at Tropico House was not nice and it was not value for money. The sheets were not clean, the bathroom was full of hair on the floor. The owner was not friendly. The towels are only changed on request or prior arrangements with management. I was given wrong room keys so I slept without locking the door. I would not recommend to any of my friends."

"We stayed for two days in one of the shell rooms. The stay was wonderful except from the fact that there is no through flow of air, causing the room to get quite hot. Take a fan with if you know there is going to be some hot days! Then - the open shower is a disaster. Our water drained at a very low speed, causing the water to build up quickly and running into the room where it runs onto the mat. No good at all! You have to work some sort of strategy of how to prevent the water running into the room. Then you sit with a room not smelling nice because you have to close the room when going out. Apart from these two things, we enjoyed our stay. Nice linen, bed, etc. People are very friendly and helpful. Will look for another place to stay next time due to the shower! Sorry!"

"We stayed in one of the shell rooms, not a very big room but it has a very comfortable bed with good linen. The room has very limited TV Channels & reception. Bathroom is a great concept, but the water pressure is almost non existent and the floor is a hazard as very slippery. Could not use the enclosed "Secure parking" as there was a bakkie parked in the way."

"There were no wardrobes in the rooms and therefore no place to put on or in your things, this makes the stage quite uncomfortable. On top there were no blinds at the huge windows (just some thin curtains) so there was no way to stop the sun to come plenty into the room at 5 o'clock in the morning."
