• "Quiet forest setting."

    13 January 2020

"The photos do not do the place justice. Very quiet setting with a lovely deck. The house faces away from the road so is very private. Although it is a simple family beach cottage the kitchen is well equipped, the lounge is very comfortable and the beds are comfortable. There is great outside shower makes up for the small inside bathroom. We had a great stay, very relaxing. Nature's Valley is a real gm. Super walks and a long beach with plenty of space for all. The lagoon provides great swimming. I would suggest you upgrade to cotton linen (will raise the comfortable level). the back stairs still need some attention, they are seriously slippery in the wet and the railing is loose."

  • "Fix the flaws - and the stairs."

    23 January 2018

"House was okay but has some serious flaws. Stairs are diabolical, especially when wet. With an effective tread width of less than 150mm, on a 50 degree rise, they are essentially illegal and have no grip strips at all, only shiny varnish on extremely steep outside stairs. The inside stairs are only slightly better. There is no reason these stairs cannot be rebuilt at a reasonable slope and tread. The house was reasonably clean but the blankets were awful - dirty and nasty. One roll of single ply toilet paper for four people for 5 nights? Hello? The lighting/ electrics was very poor - and who uses incandescent lights in 2018?The outside showers were pretty wonky too.The beds and accommodation was comfortable and it is a nice house. It is just a big pity it is spoiled by some serious design and maintenance oversight. We felt that the accommodation was overpriced for what we were getting. With some work the venue could be brought up to a reasonable standard. We stayed in other venues elsewhere along the garden route with far higher standards of accommodation, facilities, and interaction (we never saw anybody linked to the accommodation, let alone have anybody ask us if everything was okay) at significantly lower prices.I see that some of these issues have been raised by previous guests. As a guest accommodation owner myself - who had only 5 star reviews on TripAdvisor for the 7 years we operated - I feel I speak with a level of knowledge of the business."

  • "Lovely Natures Valley"

    26 December 2017

"We had a lovely stay, beautifull birdlife and fireflies!"

  • "The unique smell of Natures Valley"

    28 May 2017

"Unfortunately the house is very cold in winter and has no indoor fireplace or any heaters (had to drive to Plett to buy a heater).Access to the house is via two different staircases, front and rear. They are extremely steep and footing area is precareous. After both my wife and our dog fell down the stairs we decided to leave four days earlier."

  • "Adequate"

    16 January 2017

"We were a bit disappointed with the inside of the house. It needs a thorough cleaning, especially washing of the curtains and carpets.

A few things were not available in the house which we had to purchase such as a grill for the braai (only rusted one), a lighter for the gas stove, cleaning products and brushes and drinking glasses."
