Hawkshead Guest Farm offers thatched rondavels at budget prices. Situated just off the N4 Highway and 15 km west of Nelspruit, this is a convenient and tranquil base from which to explore the many attractions of the Lowveld.
A dip in the swimming pool provides a refreshing end to a hard day's sightseeing, followed by a braai next to your rondavel. Breakfast is available at the main house and dinners can be arranged. We also provide facilities for self-catering if required.
The scenic beauty of the Panorama Route and the excitement of the Kruger National Park are all within an hour's drive. There are also many attractions closer to home, including the Sudwala Caves and some outstanding golf courses. Amenities at Hawkshead include a petting farm with various small animals for the children to enjoy. Because of its setting amongst rocky outcrops and indigenous vegetation, there is an abundance of bird life.
Hawkshead Guest Farm offers special rates for groups and long-term guests. We will happily accommodate trailers, boats and motorbikes as space is not a problem. We look forward to welcoming you.
"The rooms were cosy and our host Val Graham made everything possible to make our stay comfortable. I wish though next time we could have at least a bar fridge in the rooms. The establishment is 5 minutes away from Nelspruit town and less than 20 minutes to Sudwala caves and Dinosaur park."
"Place was not cleaned before we arrived. Spider nest inside one bed. Bloodspatter on sheets..."
"Yes we did.will be back again next year"
"We did enjoy our stay, we were warmly welcomed."
"Each room was neat, the beds were so comfortable and the kitchen area was fully equipped. A very nice stay and Val was very helpful and understanding. An overall great stay with a very affordable price."
"Overnight facilities were good and recreational facilities. We enjoyed it. Will come again."
"Lovely thatched accommodation. Self catering made easy with the addition of microwave and toaster. There are permanent residents there with yappy dogs which does not make for a quiet lie in in the morning. The race way can be heard loud and clear on the weekends so make plans to go and watch the races or go out for the day.Children are welcome but there is little there for them to do. There is a TV with poor reception but no DStv, and no video or DVD machine, so take these with if you are staying for a while. Gates are locked at night, which was not mentioned on arrival. Ensure you get a gate key with your house keys. Credit cards are not accepted so ensure you have cash to pay for your stay.Due to lack of watchable TV it would have been great to have a radio in the house. There are 4 friendly dogs roaming the yard belonging to owners so be aware if you don't like dogs."
