Hezekiah Game Farm is situated approximately 15 km from Nelspruit, in the scenic Alkmaar region. It is owner run and managed by the Coetzee Family. A portion of the farm is used for small-scale commercial farming, whilst the remaining area is dedicated to game farming. Numerous antelope species including kudu, nyala, impala, klipspringer and duiker are present in abundance and bird life is prolific. A myriad of farm roads are available for birders, hikers and mountain bikers to enjoy. Freshwater fishing is possible in the dam on a catch and release basis, and there is a peddle-boat available to use that can seat four people.
All three of the accommodation units at Hezekiah are situated close to the dam with fantastic views of the surrounding mountainous countryside and is safe and secure. Each of the units also has a TV with DStv and is air-conditioned. The original Stone Cottage consists of two comfortable bedrooms with double beds. The cottage is fully equipped for self-catering and offers an open-plan kitchen with a fridge-freezer, a three-plate stove, a microwave oven, a toaster and kettle. All pots, pans, crockery and cutlery are provided.
The two Log Cabins are proving to be very popular with our guests. Both units are fully equipped for self-catering, including a fridge, freezer, electric stove, microwave oven, kettle, toaster, pots, pans, crockery and cutlery.
Hezekiah is an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding area. The Broham Golf Driving Range is a stones throw away, whilst numerous world-class golf courses can be found within a 50 km radius. Another attraction that is virtually on our doorstep is the spectacular Sudwala Caves and Dinosaur Park that is well worth a visit. Nelspruit town and surroundings also have a lot to offer including the Lowveld Botanical Gardens, Riverside Mall and Casino, The Grove Lifestyle Centre and the Jane Goodall Chimpanzee Eden (which offers three tours through the sanctuary daily). Two entrance gates to the world-famous Kruger National Park are less than an hours drive away. The famous Panorama Route is situated along the Drakensberg Escarpment and is a bit further afield, but day visits to Gods Window, the Berlin and Lisbon waterfalls, the Bourkes Luck Potholes and the Blyde River Canyon are possible.
"Relaxing and quiet break away. We stayed in log cabin 1 which I would recommend. We were blessed with the buck walking through our little garden and the sound of an owl calling in the evening. Henk was a friendly host who even gave us a packet of their delicious local naartjies. I can definitely recommend. Lots of places to explore nearby."
