  "The place was clean and the guesthouse is central and close to town and eating places. That was the only good thing of the guesthouse. The pool was dissapointing as it was dirty. We also didnt have a peaceful night sleep as the workers on duty had the TV on the whole night and they were chatting loudly amongst themselves till early hours of the morning. The workers kept on opening and closing the door to go outside. This was unacceptable as the workers had no consideration for the guest We were so tired as we travelled from Joburg and had to attend an early wedding in the morning. This made the stay unpleasurable. What was also disspointing was the fact that we were only given the keys and no one explained what time is check out and what facilities was available to us. We also had a problem with our door as it would'nt open and we had to get the workers to bring a knife for us to open. Due to my bad experience I would not recommend this guesthouse and will not stay there in the future."

  "After booking through Safarinow.com and paying our deposit we arrived at VnA Guesthouse on Friday at about 18:00. The receptionist had no record of our booking. After paying the balance we went to our room: the toilet had been used and not flushed, there was no toilet paper and no soap. I managed to get some toilet paper but they had run out of soap! My son had no upper sheet on his bed and two of the duvets were torn. The towels had stains on them and the sheets did not have that crisp feel of being cleaned and pressed. DSTV had only one channel on a very small TV tucked away on the side of the room. All in all, a very disappointing experience."

  "Very bad experience. Not what I expected from what was described in advert and in photos given. I found the place to very VERY small and dark and dingy, no place to unpack and no place to put toiletries. The room had small mats that were very dirty. I also asked to have the shower cleaned when I arrived. The lined smelt clean as did the towels and they did service the room daily. The carpets throughout the reception and dining area were also horridly dirty. The whole garden and outdoor area: horrid, and the view from the narrow 15cm window in my room was awful: broken furniture and a unkept thatched area and empty stagnating pool. On the first night I received a very nasty spider bite while sleeping and have spent over R1000 in medical expenses so far. The food was: 'get what you get', cold and concealed, oily and no dietary requirements asked so had to eat what was given, or go hungry. there was a 'communal kitchenette' for all guests, but this was just off the bedroom area and so people using and sitting at tiny TV area, were audible from my room. Other guests noisy and came in late which meant you heard people talking well into the night. Other concerns: parking looked like building site and not secure. No DSTV, aircon or fresh air in rooms."

  "We had a wonderful stay, friendly reception and clean accommodation.Our concern is that we never knew that the money we paid excluded breakfast. The swimming pool was not clean, the place is hot and requires one to cool off. Otherwise the place is wonderful."

  "It is a very nice place located nearby to Newcastle Mall. The hosts of the guesthouse are very friendly and customise services just for the guests. We arrived very late at the guesthouse but they still waited very patiently for us and even took extra effort to help us prepare our room."
