Abbadale

Abbadale offers B&B accommodation in a gracious double-storey home built in 1904. The shady garden has large oak trees and squirrels.

The upstairs rooms are away from any bustle and offer en-suite bathrooms with TVs and tea and coffee-making facilities. We serve full English breakfasts, farm-style or Continental with yoghurt, cereals, fruit, cold meats and cheese.

There is plenty safe parking behind security gates and guests can use the large swimming pool and braai area. We are close to Newlands Stadium, Kelvin Grove, the Vineyard Hotel and the Sports Science Institute.

  • "Not Bad"

    21 January 2015

"Prakash- Hospitality is very good. Mr. and Mrs. Gourdon have very friendly nature.Breakfast is perfectLocated at ideal place for train.Lock and gate responsibility can be eased by giving individual keys to everyone who stays in the guest house. To improve in WIFI connectivity.Overall experience was good to stay at abbadale.Abbas- Its good but feeling like a hostel. To lock and open gate and main gate suppose not to be our responsibility. Not taking care of things like soap, towel, tea items and cleaning everyday. But any way its located at good and quite place. Walk able distance for railway station.Hitesh- Good to stay and if you have your own car this isthe best place to stay, otherwise take a train which is very near.Breakfast is good along with love of Aunty judy. Nature of Owner is very good and understanding is good.If you are king of night and you will come in the morning at 5am everyone is guest house will ask you you came in the morning?? like an family.. you will not realize that it is a guest house it is like you are staying in house and its good..Internet connectivity was very low. I was working until night 1-2am because of slow internet.I read some books also as Aunty Judy love Books. Good Joke hahahaAnyway it is bit far from main town but its good and silent area. I love Aunty Judy."

  • "Good service"

    14 January 2013

"Unfortunately, I was given an option to select my room and I made the wrong choice. The room I selected would be suitable as a single, but as a double it left a lot to be desired. On a more positive note, Judith, the owner and the rest of the staff were extremely pleasant, and the breakfast served was outstanding."

  • "Had a nice stay"

    18 March 2006

"We stayed 4 nights and it was very nice. Very close to Newlands stadium so travelling was slow due to cricket matches. Very close to Kirstenbosch, between M3 and M5 major arteries, makes it easy to get into/out of town and travel around. Garden is tranquil with a few squirrels in the trees. Pool is really very big and deep! The owner took special measures to provide a cot for our baby which was exactly what we needed and we appreciated this a lot."
