This luxury resort is situated amidst one of Cape Towns oldest Milkwood forests, directly below the famous Chapmans Peak drive and overlooking the stunning 8 km long, white, sandy beach of Noordhoek, ideal for those romantic evening strolls.
Experience spectacular African sunsets while sipping sundowners on our wooden deck. In spring, watch Southern Right whales frolicking in the ocean. Retire in the evening to one of our many cosy B&B rooms or self-catering cottages, where you are able to enjoy the peaceful ambience of the night by the fireplace.
All cottages have a deck or lawn terrace with stunning sea views, outside hot shower and private braai with beautiful stone. For that truly special occasion, indulge in our fine selection of food and wines while enjoying our friendly hospitality par excellence.
The dcor is a wonderful eclectic mix of antique oak and Oregon, old carved Bali dark wood pieces, Victorian oak antiques, huge comfortable couches, plantation chairs, natural grain wood sills, warm natural stone in the hall, sunlight pouring in through the old Cape Dutch windows with shutters to the North, deep Victorian Oregon windows to the South looking over the sea with its continuous breakers. This is the most romantic spot in Africa.
"Loved the staff,, friendly and great sense of humour. hardworking too.The cleanliness of rooms is not good, the carpets and fireplace especially. The room was poorly equipped, not much in refreshments and television did not work."
"The view was excellent. The house was clean and cleaned daily. TV was not working, nothing was done about it after I reported it. I fell little things like that should be working as the house are not cheap. Toilet needs attention."
"We stayed in the cabin called the baboon lodge, it has the most amazing views and is lovely and cozy. The staff at Monkey Valley are so friendly, we loved our stay there and will definitely be back again."
"We absolutely loved our stay. The staff was friendly the food was delicious and the atmosphere of the place was amazing. We will definitely return again."
"I enjoyed my stay .. the tv reception was not clear at all..but overall we enjoyed the place hopefully next time we'll stay longer..."
"This is a beautiful place... loved it!!"
"I had a wonderful stay over the weekend but was very disappointed with the fire place. The couple below us had a problem with their fire place and smoked out their room. I had friends who had stayed at your resort who experienced the same issue years ago. Obviously, this made us hesitant to make a fire and the wood was wet. The fire place was one of the things I actually got excited for especially with the weather being the way it was."
"I could not sleep. The bed needs to be replaced. When we got into bed a big mouse ran from one side of the wall to the other. Obviously my wife could not sleep after that. I got up after a bad night with a sore back. I expected much much better. We stayed in Falcon. The place needs cleaning. The shower door does not close. We cut our stay short as we could not put ourselves through another night of torture. Extremely disappointed. Would not recommend any person to stay over."
"A lovely cottage with a spectacular view - unfortunately, there were big disappointments in the management of my booking. No Wifi and only two DSTV channels. Not ideal when you have a 13 year old boy to entertain! Safari Now advertises that the cottage comes with breakfast - it does not. The manager would not uphold this and thus we had to find a restaurant for breakfast."
"The resort has the best views of Noordhoek beach with direct access via its own pathway. Staff are friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable but the bed/linen/towels seemed a bit tired. We had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant, both meals were tasty and good value. The wine list could be more extensive for a Cape-based resort. We'll happily recommend the resort for holidays or conferences."
"It's a beautiful place in a beautiful suburb. Unfortunately I can not say the same about the cottage that we stayed in. The carpets were dirty, the shower drain was full of hair, and the water did'nt drained while you shower. The shower curtain is dirty, as well as the microwave. The dishwasher could'nt turn on or off.<div>It was our worst stay in the Western Cape ever. Would definitely not recommend anyone to go there.</div>"
"Monkey Valley is friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant and bars represent excellent value in a magnificent setting. But Seagull cottage is a bit tired and needs upgrading, and in its present condition does not justify the high rental."
"Very warm reception at desk and loved our Executive Suite. Along with a complimentary bottle of bubbles, a lovely touch for our special occasion. Thank You! A room with view was what we were promised and got. We enjoyed both sundowners and a dinner on the restaurant deck. Even though there was a wedding going on, we were not disturbed at all. Waitrons and bar staff very friendly and cheerful. So hats off to the management team."
"Honestly not the best experience I've had in CT. The staff on check in was borderline rude ( which I assumed was because of the wedding being hosted but no excuse). It was incredibly noisy the first night (some warning of the wedding would have been nice). I was ignored at dinner for almost 45 minutes, before being served, two of the wines i attempted to order was out of stock, and was then served very average food followed by a cocky waiter at payment time because he wasn't being tipped?Breakfast which is supposedly served from 7 wasn't anywhere near ready at 7:45 on the morning I left. The views are spectacular and the units well kept, but if it's service you're looking for, look elsewhere."
"Five Star resort. Family friendly and professional staff. Why go to Bali when its all here at Monkey Valley in Cape Town."
"My husband and I really needed time away from everything after he was away for a month. We had a lovely stay. The most frienly staff! Unfortunately when we wanted to go for supper on Fridag evening just after eight we the manager of the restaurant made us feel as if he really did not want us there that time of the evening. We sat for 15 minutes and still nobody asked us if we wanted anything to drink. We got up and went to a restaurant up the road. The breakfast was great! We will definately be back in the future."
"The resort is a bit "tired". The setting is great and staff are friendly. Things that has to be fixed in the room are annoying (e.g.curtains, water mixer spout in the bath). Rooms are due for a "facelift". The resort rating of 4 stars is misleading."
"It was the perfect getaway for my husband and myself. We needed a break from our hectic schedules and our 3 busy little boys. It was just what we needed. The food was excellent at thornefynns restaurant. The sunset was magical. Our room was nicely situated so I could soak in the bath while watching the waves on the beach. A perfectly awesome stay. Would definately go again if I could."
"Monkey Valley Resort is a wonderful place to just go and relax. It is peaceful, set in beautiful surroundings and just plain wonderful. Thank you to all staff for a wonderful visit."
"I liked this little resort. We booked a 3 bed house, which was well furnished, offered great privacy and in a good location. Nordhoek itself was new to me, but there are restaurants and the beach in easy reach... Do try the food barn for bread or breakfast... Overall, I was happy. I see reviews saying It's tired, but I think that's in part the nature of wooden built places... Notable was the fact It's slightly in the shade of the mountain and high enough to catch a breeze."
"We had a one-nights stay at Monkey Valley in their Flamingo Room. It was fabulous! The room has an amazing view! The bed was just so comfortable. I haven't slept that well in ages. Room service was just so easy, and the staff very friendly and efficient, especially Pilot and Leonie. We will definitely be back."
"We stayed at Monkey Valley Resort for a friend's wedding. It is in a great location with amazing views. We were upgraded to a cabin with an ocean view. The beautiful spacious rooms, felt like you were in a tree house. The only negative was the lack of a shower - bath only. Overall, a great stay and I would definitely stay again."
"Fantastic scenery and lovely establishment."
"Monkey Valley is the little Knysna of Cape Town, with a bonus sea view included."
"Monkey Valley Resort is such a beautiful establishment. The staff were exceptionally friendly and very helpful. The walk down to Noordhoek beach is stunning and it is the perfect setting for any occasion."

"We had a super wonderful time at monkey valley and i'd most definitely be sure to return in future just that parking is kind of an issue especially if you have more than one car at the same cottage"

"A great place to get away for the weekend. "
"This is a very impressive resort with spectacular rooms with sea views. The location is superb in that it is out of town with access to beach and yet so close to Cape Town."
"I am a South African who has become an American citizen but who misses South Africa terribly, not only because of its great beauty and because it is home, but because of the changes that have come about in the society. My hope for the country is constant. Monkey Valley is a place where I feel absolutely comfortable, not only because of its beauty but because of its spirit."

"Monkey Valley resort is fantastic. We were well looked after and there was no shortage of things to do. From long walks on the beach to relaxing in the resort, the weekend we spent there was not long enough. I would recommend monkey valley for anyone from honeymooners to families. There are many activities for the sports enthusiast and hiking trails aplenty. The resort itself is very big and there are many relaxing things to do, from lying around the pool to enjoying the on-site cuisine, to relaxing on the sun deck with a cocktail."
