Letaba Rest Camp Kruger National Park SANParks

ACTIVITIES CAN NOW BE BOOKED! Choose an exhilarating adventure when requesting your quote under our extraordinary Room Types!

The name Letaba, meaning "river of sand," evokes a sense of enchantment as the sandy riverbed sets the stage for unforgettable game viewing moments. The area is notorious for its thriving population of magnificent elephants, creating an enthralling spectacle. Nestled in the heart of the surrounding mopane veld, Letaba offers a verdant oasis that never fails to captivate its visitors. As night falls, a celestial tapestry of stars emerges, accompanied by a mesmerizing symphony of natural sounds. Owls, nightjars, frogs, fruit bats, crickets, and cicadas all harmoniously compete for attention, until the regal roar of the lion commands a hushed reverence.

We went to the reception to found out where is our belongings Infom me we only book for one night. I show them our recervation document. They sort it out but I am very upset they pack my personal stuff in and that is invade of privacy. I am not happy with this matter. I hope you take it up with Sanparks. • "Great experience"

    26 June 2016

"The camp itself was amazing. Staff are very friendly and the atmosphere was warm. We stayed in one of the cottages and it was very clean and had everything we needed. It's quite a large area but also has an amazing view over the river banks. I have been to the park a few times and this is one of my favourite camps. We went out on a 4.30pm game drive and were lucky to have a leopard come right past the vehicle. Great camp, great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend."

  • "Amazing stay!"

    03 January 2015

"We stayed in unit D32 the EA3U bungalow (3 beds, fridge, air con, basin) which is possibly the best in the camp - something which numerous people who passed our bungalow commented on! The view is amazing from this hut - a perfect view of the river! The only thing is this particular hut is right next to the restaurant which is a bit noisy in the early morning as the staff prepare the restaurant. The huts are clean and well kept inside and clean towels are given every few days. These huts are all very close to the shared bathroom which was very clean and not busy at all despite a very full camp (we visited between Christmas and new year for 4 nights). The communal kitchen is not far away either. The elephant museum in the camp is not to be missed - very interesting! The bush buck roaming the camp are very sweet and very tame."

  • "Nice, comfortable stay"

    22 September 2014

"We stayed in the tent accommodation at Letaba and it was convenient and comfortable. The tent has electricity, with a fan and fridge inside. The outside braai area was well kept and the communal bathrooms very clean. I would recommend checking bedding before getting in though as they are tents and creepy crawlies do make their way in sometimes."

"The only thing I will add is for a small microwave, kettle. And will love to have a double bed in some of the tents. Place to hang up your clothes."
